Wags Dimetapp/Robitussin Problem
I am new to the whole coupon and RR deals, and unsure if I am in the wrong, or if the manager was just trying to get me out of the way to ring people up, but here's the deal:
I purchased $20 in Vicks products the other day and got the $10 RR back, and I used that RR today on my Dimetapp and Robitussin purchase. My transaction today is as follows:
3 Dimetapp at $4 each
2 Robitussin at $4 each
1 Pack of gum at $1.19
Total before tax and Q: $21.19
I used the previously mentioned $10 RR, and 5 $2 Qs for the meds.
The total after tax and Qs was $2.49
I was under the impression that for spending the $20 on the meds I should have gotten the $10 RR for the Robitussin and Dimetapp purchase. Unfortunately I did not notice that the Catalina was out of paper before my purchase. When I did not receive the RR, I asked the cashier where it was, and she said the Catalina was out of paper. She called the manager to see what could be done. The manager came up, fixed the printer (according to her, but I still saw red lights flashing on it) and long story short told me that the deal is for your total after Tax and Qs, and since I used the 5 $2 Qs and the $10 RR, my total for it after tax was less than $2, so I would not get any RR for the purchase. I explained to her that I used Qs to get the Vicks RR, and my total was under $20 after tax and Qs, to which she told me, that there was nothing she could do, and that if I needed clarification, I should call Customer Service.
So my question (as being that I am not a Wags shopper and am rather unsure of their policies) is whether I was wrong, and should not have gotten the RR, or if the manager was wrong, and I should have gotten the RR. I sat on the phone for 40 minutes, before needing to get off to deal with a fussy teething baby. So if anyone can help me figure out if I should sit waiting on the phone, please let me know. Thank you.

You cannot "roll" RRs, meaning you cannot use RRs from the same deal over again for the same product and get more RRs. If you paid for the meds the 2nd time w/o using RRs you would have gotten the RRs again. Coupons do not matter, it is the amount before coupons that counts.
To add: At my Walgreens you cannot use ANY RR and get a RR back. I agree it is not fair, and I now plan my transactions around it.

My own understanding that you should have gotten the 10RR since I have done that before (not on the RObitussin though), but my total after coupons was less that what it is supposed to be and still got a 5RR.
More experienced WAG shoppers will be able to answer that better than me.
I had a situation today too, I went to purchase 2 kisses bags on sale (christmas items) and tried to use the coupon in the ESC (1 off 2) and the register beeped and even when the manager came, he kept saying no as they be free since they are on clearence, I explained they won't be free since I have to get 2 and each is 62 c but he had no explanation, I later read on the coupons that it is no valid with any other offer, does that mean not vaild on clearence???

The initial RRs were from the buy $20 in Vicks get $10 RR. I was using that RR on the Robitussin and Dimetapp buy $20 get $10 RR.
I think no matter that the outcome, I'm not going back to Wags to shop. I have had several issues with the various ones I have tried, even before I tried couponing. But if I am entitled RR, I want them.

You should have received the a $10RR and a $5RR for the Wyeth deal regardless of what coupons you use and the Vicks RR.
Your initial understanding of not being about to roll a Wyeth to a Wyeth or a Vicks to a Vicks is correct and so is your thinking you can roll the Vicks and get the Wyeth and roll the Wyeth with the Vicks and get the Vicks was and is also correct.
If you don't want to deal with the store anymore you can call the Catalina company with your receipts in hand and they will get your RRs for you.

If you were using previous RR's from the same deal then you won't get RR's back you can't roll them at Wags....The only one that rolls them is CVS.HTH.

Correct me if I am wrong but can't she call the catalina 800# and explain the deal with the printer being out of paper? And then that would bypass the whole Walgreens' fiasco? I have never done one of these deals myself but I am curious to find out.

I agree, you should have received the RR's. I used my $10 RR when doing the robitussin deal and got back $20 rr's. I have yet tohave a problem "rolling" RR's. However, it might be a location issue.
