Default Another trouble day at Wags.

I went to Wags today to get the Kleenex deal and don't know why, but my RR wouldn't scan but one.

    This is the trans. summary:

    6-Kleenex @ 1.59 ea
    1-M&M @ .69

    Used:
    In-store Coupon - 3.60
    3- .50/2 MFC
    2.00 RR from Colgate
    1.00 RR from Playtex
    1.00 RR from playtex

RR would not scan or even if they were to manually enter the numbers in. The manager told me because it exceeded my items. I told him, I had 7 items and only had 6 Q's total excluding in-store coupon. He said that the limit exceeded the items when the cashier scanned. I told him to VOID my whole transaction and left with my RR's and Q's back. I went to the Wags. down the street and did the same thing, but it didn't scan either. The manager here told me that I couldn't use the same RR on one transaction like the Playtex's RR. So then I took them back and used my 3.00 RR instead but I had to add another M&M to make it scan. Don't know if its the system today or what...PLEASE HELP WAG EXPERTS!!!

It is not just the amount of coupons to items you need to watch for, it is also the DOLLAR amount. RR cannot be used for any portion of the tax. Threfore, it is likely that you needed to add another filler item to make the pretax total exceed your coupon + RR total.

Right, but according to my calculation, I should be able to use it though. 6 Kleenex X .99= 5.94-1.50 MFC = 4.44 + .69 = 5.13 before tax....shouldn't this work? I did also tried using 2 other M&m's but still wouldn't take it either, so I asked the cashier to void them out and just kept 1 m&m.

Ok, by my calculations you have too many q's. The $.50/2 attaches to both items, so all 6 boxes of tissue had a q with it, then the m&m's took care of 1 RR, but you still had 2 more RR's that you needed fillers for.

Any Wags pro want to confirm or correct me? Please??? I am not a Wags pro - my preference is CVS

Did you calculate your tax on the before coupon total or the after coupon total? That's the only thing I can think of.

    Unfortunately, I don't think that's it...

    6 X 1.59 = 9.54 plus .69 = 10.23 - Wags Q (3.60) = 6.63 - MFC q's 1.50 = 5.13 - RR's (4.00) = $1.13 before any taxes... that should have worked.

    7 items - 6 mfc (since the $.50/2 attaches to each tissue box) = 1 item remaining - 3 RR's = equals a deficit in items.

Mnm'z is correct. The $0.50/2 coupons attach to 2 items each. The in ad coupons do not count toward your coupon total.

Ditto, the Kleenex $0.50/2 coupons attached to two items each. You needed more fillers to use more RRs.

I was going to post the same thing about the 50 cents/2 Kleenex attaching to 2 items but didn't know how to word it.

Another reason I do not like Walgreens.....so many idiosyncrasies and exceptions to the rules that even the cashiers and managers do not know how to be of assistance.

Thanks everyone. Got it now...Never thought a coupon for two items like that would be attached, but will keep that in mind. See, if the cashier or manager was to say that to me, I would've understood, but instead she said I can't use 2 liked coupons in one transaction.
