Question about Expiration on Register Rewards

Sorry for the simpleton question but I have $28 in register rewards that expire on this Sunday, 8-14. I was going to use them for Sundays sales but it occurred to me they might not work like coupons where you can use them on their expiration date. (With all the hoops Walgreens makes us jump through, this would not surprise me a bit). So can anyone tell me if you can use them the day of the expiration or are they no good that day?
