Lightbulb Walgreens Implements New Store Design 5/26 Clearance!

My dh is a manager at walgreens and for a while they've been discussing in meetings about a new store floor plan idea to help the store seem more "inviting" it will have it's pros and cons, the main visual difference being that they are going to start store by store taking the shelves down to "view overs" which means the shelves that have stuff piled on top of them will be shortened so that customers can actually see OVER the shelf. This apparently makes customers feel less overwhelmed and gives them a more inviting shopping experience (i think it's mumbo jumbo lol, i like my shelves stacked and packed personally, why do they think so many ppl shop at bulk stores like Sam's club, but i guess it is supposed to be a 'drug store'..meh..)

Anyway, This means that they will stop carrying aprox. 28% of the items they have been carrying and will be putting these items on clearance a few at the time. Tomorrow my dh will be marking 9 double roll charmin down to $1.87 (with the $.25 q in the PG 5/8 that's not a 'bad' price since retail is $5.99 -see i never get tp free lol-) in addition Browny 8 roll paper towels reg. $10.99 will be $2.19, Bounty 6 roll reg $8.99 will be $2.49( these have qs also mine are a measly $.25 again lol) But for ME these are great prices.. there are tons of other items like Hair dye, Shampoos (because they will start carrying a limited "size" and brands of these items) make up, all marked with those "Last Chance" stickers.

They are doing this process slowly so that they won't have a "mass" of clearance when they change their shelves, since they'll have no room to display it even for clearance sale, so i'd really be checking these orange tags over the next few months. The store in a town an hour away has already changed to the new design so it probably won't be long before it's in a your walgreens. Just thought i'd give ppl an FYI

Also, i have a question.. has anyone else noticed "store coupons" that are only regional at walgreens.... not really regional but they are only in certain papers, like apparently some of the 5/22 inserts came with a two page walgreens in-store coupon list including ritz crackerfuls $1/2, Newton thins $1/2, Kraft mayo $.50/1, finish or jetdry $1.50/1 and a few others?...these weren't in my walgreens "ad" nor in the monthly coupon book... is this something that ppl are aware of and do you know why they aren't advertised everywhere?

I get these Qs every now and again, like all the ones you just mentioned were in my paper last week. I guess it's just regional!

Well at least i'm smart lol.. i can go on ebay and ppl have these items "for sale" but in the picture you can see the "four digit" code which is the last four digits of the coupon, that code is just typed in at Walgreens similar to the 4 digit number on fruits and veggies at walmart to use the coupons so i just wrote them down and my walgreens said they had no problem using the codes as long as the computer accepted them which they did!...i just guess i'll have to start searching for this every now and again so i don't miss a good q.

Interesting. I was showing Celina the "last chance" coupons that keep popping up in our two local Walgreens that are unadvertised half or more off the item deals that I keep scoring. I am betting they started the process here earlier, as it seems to be lesser known, more expensive HBA items that are being tagged. That and "similar" color lip/nail colors and closely related base and powders.

Our area just got done with that! I like the set-up, but the thought of less product to choose from scares me.....I just HATE getting good coupons, and not getting to use them because the store doesn't carry the product!
