Question Coupons from a wag mgr

    Hello Everybody,

I am a wag assistant mgr. I actually enjoy the regular coupon "ladies" (in my store it is mostly ladies). I will actually trade websites and information with them. One of them has actually given me Huggies coupons to use. I try to order up the FARR deals for them, and other things that i think will be good sellers. Of course we do limit transactions on such items early in the week to ensure stock for everyone, but i will make exceptions for some of my regulars that are really nice.

Tonight I have to vent about one coupon person in particular. First she was not a regular couponer at my store. Second she immediately starts throwing attitude around. Third even after we load her up with 30 of the Black forest gummy worms and 30 of the black forest gummy bears she is still not happy with the "customer service". Fourth I thought I was doing her a favor by allowing her to get more then the limited amount.

All I can do is shake my head and wonder where does she get her sense of entitlement. I understand that .12 gummy candy after coupon is a good deal, and that is why i got 24 cases of each worms and bears in today (truck today). I was sold out of 12 cases on Monday. I do have her phone number, and I think I will call her and give her my email address and ask her to "pre-order" any other bulk purchase. I am just wondering what is the best course of action?

    Thanks for reading my vent.

nobody needs 60 bags of candy. unless its for charity. so maybe thats why she needed so much.

if they were for her, well thats just being greedy. i see no reason to let her pre-order. make her stick to the limit like everyone else.

i would like to think she was getting them for some kids, that she was going to give them to. that would be a good reason to let her buy 60 bags.

Please keep this site kind and not make mean replies...we are all aware the world bites....no need to remind us in our virtual world....Thank You.

Most definitely make her aware that you are willing to order bulk items....I am just starting to do this and have been encouraging all my "coupon binder carrying momma's" to do the same, and it has been relieving the shelf clearing early in the week.

First off I think it is cool that here you are a Walgreens manager and you are on the boards it sounds like you are going way out of your way to be nice to this person.
Keep in mind there are some people that will never be happy no matter what you do for them.
I have learned if you do it for 1 it might come back to bite you in the end either by her friends saying you do it for so and so or she will come to expect it all the time. You do it for one you should do it for all.
I'm always happy when they are willing to give me rain checks or just telling me when the trucks come in for that item. I don't buy the store out.
It sounds like you have your hands full once you start something it is very hard to stop..
If you are going to have her order in bulk why not just have her call you on Sat or Sunday with her order then when you place your next order you can place a larger order and have hers ready and marked.
I would of loved to have a couple of bags since my Dr took my chocolate away from me the shelves were all bare.

I'm impressed that you actually admitted being a WAGS manager on the forum! *claps* Just teasing...

I think sometimes there's mutual issues between couponers and store managers. I have a decent relationship with some of the SM's at my WAGS. Yesterday I was in one of our stores and asked if they had anymore of the Vit. D's. She had 4 left in the stockroom and asked if I mined leaving some for others. I agreed. On the other hand, she's let us get away with more than one "limit 1 item" from time to time. It's a good relationship and she's an awesome gal.

I'm sorry that you had to deal with a rude person. I see it from both sides - I really do. I have to say I wish there was some consistancy though. (that goes thru all stores, not just WAGS). There's a lot more "YMMV" than I thought.

I think part of it may have been an expirence she had previously with other employees at your store - or maybe even another.

I LOVE the pre-order idea. I'm actually contemplating calling my store to see how they would feel about that. Maybe it would cut down on some of the "drama" we all have from time to time!!

1st let me say I think a pre-order should be done

2nd those gummy bears are like 30somthing cents this week----I used them for fillers and I am actually eating a bag now while reading this and the are OMG good. Where does one get a coupon to make them .12??? Are they in the ad/WAGS book or an actual MNF coupon I missed???

    That is the REAL Dilemma...lol
