What am i doing wrong with Almay 1coat?

I tried to do this deal twice and both times my total after coupon was $5.04. Why???

The first time I bought (2) Almay One Coat mascara at $7.99 each,
used (1) $4/1 Wags coupon. The register took of $8. my total was $3.98 , after tax $5.04

The second time, I bought (2) bonus packs of Almay One Coat mascara at $7.99
used (1) $4/1 Wags coupon. The register took of $8. my total was $3.98 , after tax $5.04

I think the stores in NYC has them for BOGO 1/2.

Can anyone offer some help? I want free makeup

Is their a way to know before purchasing, whether an item is BOGO free or BOGO 1/2?

The advertised sale is BOGO 1/2....for some reason some stores are ringing up BOGO FREE.....my stores are BOGO 1/2 so I feel your pain

The $4 coupon is for the Almay One Coat mascara. The $5 register reward is for the Almay Pure Blends. These are two different types of mascara. They should be BOGO 1/2 off, but one store in my area it was BOGO free. I hate when they are not all the same! You cannot use the coupon for the item that produces the register reward.

There are two possibilities:
1. Your store is ringing up as BOG1/2. That would make the purchase:
2x $7.99 = $15.98 - $3.99 (1/2 off) - 2x $4 wags Q = $3.99 +tax

2. Your store is ringing up at BOGO, but you didn't spend enough to get the second $4 wags Q to scan.
2x $7.99 = $15.98 - $7.99 (bogo) - 2x $4 wags Q = -$0.01
I know the penny doesn't seem like a big deal, but the wags register can't handle it and as a result only takes one of the $4 wags Q's off. If this is the option that's true, but something cheapie (reese's pumpkins are 25c if your store still has halloween clearance) and the second $4 will come off.

The deal is supposed to be buy one get one 50% off, there are some stores where it is coming up bogo but there is no way to tell ahead of time. You might just try a different store and ask a nice cashier (if you can find one) to scan both and tell you the price of them together and if it isn't bogo don't buy them.
