Default Price difference between different Wags stores?

I have gone to 3 different Wags and all 3 have different price on the same Lubriderm lotion. One had it at $3.79, another at $3.99 and third at $4.29. I had them all price checked and that is the price it showed. Why is that?

My WAGS in NYC has the lotions priced at $4.29. I thought it was due to living in the city where things are generally more expensive than else where.

Welcome to the world of retailing. Most national chains, including Walmart, have different prices from store to store.

For instance, the Glade candle at my Walmart is on roll back for 5.99. The Walmart 15 minutes away, the candle is regularly priced at 4.50.

Go figure.

Most of these chains will explain that they have different "zone pricing" to accomadate shipping costs. I think it is just a fancy term for "we can charge the customer a whole lot more at some stores, which improves our corporate profits."

One of our local news channels did a story on this once. They went to three Walmarts stores in our area (Orlando, Apopka, Mt. Dora, FL)and priced a list of items. They figured out that the prices reflected what the average income was for that area. The higher the income the higher the prices. They contacted Walmart and they said that their prices were not based on their customers income status, blamed a lot of it on the stores managers not keeping up with changing the prices on items as they should be ( as in the price changed company wide, but that store never changed the price or put up the new price tags). The prices did vary a lot from store to store.

yeah, prices vary by store. For example, the Walgreens on Perkins/College Drive has $3.79 for Lubriderm 6oz, while the one on Bluebonnet lists as $4.29

Different stores will have different prices depending on what part of town they are in, as others have said. I find price differences of up to a dollar at stores 10 miles apart.

I noticed this today at Walgreens on Dial softsoap. There was difference of $1.00 between the two stores. That is ridiculous! I know where I will be shopping in the future.

The same was with the huggies wipes a few months back, when we had that $2.00 walgreens coupon. I found prices varied from store to store in my area.
