Default Another Silly Cashier Comment

At WAGS today, all the Halloween and Fall stuff was 75% off. I found two leaf candy dishes that were 2/$5 regular price, so they would be 2/$1.25 with 75% off. They rang up wrong and I told the lady they were 75% off. She then uses a calculator and STILL charges me the wrong amount. I brought her attention to it again, and she said, "Well, I'm not too good at math! How much do you WANT to pay for them?" I should have said, "I'll take them for free!", but I showed her the correct way to figure it on the calculator. Geesh!

Don't they have a key on the register to put in the discount off the regular price of something? I have seen other stores do this.
She is not good at math? I bet if they shorted her paycheck, she would become real good at math very quickly.

It's really sad that some people can't even do simple math. Wow.

Whatever happened to math being a prerequisite for becoming a cashier? Now you just have to be talented enough to figure out how to trick the cash register into doing what you want.

I agree. I thought you needed to know math to have this job. I remember having to take math tests for part of the interview process when I was in high school looking for jobs.

Maybe this is why many cashiers don't know how to give the proper change back if the register doesn't tell them how much to give.
