Question Rolling RR Help

So, I have been couponing since 9/09 and am ready to "try" and roll some of my RR into transactions. I have about $62 in RR. But, I need some help or at least some guidelines in developing transactions.

I have been reading a lot of the posts where people have rolled their RR and received more RR back. I know that I can't use a RR for a product by the same manufacturer and expect to get another RR to replace (if that makes sense). So, how do I know which manufacturers make which products and which RR I can use for items? Sometimes the posts just say which dollar amount RR was used and since I have several that are in that dollar amount (some from PG or from Bic etc) I don't know which one to give to the cashier. Any pointers or help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Jennifer

This is what helps me, a lot!
I do a google search for 'walgreens shopping scenario 10/25' (this would be for tomorrow, oct 25.
Tons of different shopping scenarios will come up, and most all will include some kind of rolling the RR.

I pick one that works best for what I want to buy...and then always come back to couponmom to report any success

Look on the RR itself. It will say what manufacturer it is from(i.e. The Theraflu & Triaminic ones say Novaritis, Chapstick P&G, Halls says Halls, Trident says Trident & so on & so forth.) Once I have determined the manufacturers are in fact different I sometimes just check the back of the product itself to make sure there isn't a conflict.

Then I bust out my calculator & get to calculating.

Here is an ex. of a rollout I did tonight:

(1) Vaseline lotion - $6.99 - Used (1) $1.50/1 IP
(3) Triaminic - $4.99 each - Used (3) $3/1 MQs & $2 WAGs coupon for auto $6 discount
(2) Halloween pencils(fillers) - $.13 each w/in-ad coupon

Used (2) $1 Halls RRs & (1) $3.50 Emergen-C RR

Total OOP $1.02 - Got back (1) $7 Vaseline RR & (1) $8 Triaminic RR

Here is another:

(1) Zantac - $8.99 - Used (1) $5/1 IP
(1) Emergen- C - $3.49

Used (1) $7 Vaseline RR

Total OOP $.59 - Got back (1) $9 Zantac RR & (1) $3.50 Emergen-C RR

Red face

Thank you for all of your help and responses thus far. So, I am an employee with Walgreens and get a 15% discount as an employee (so the prices are discounted 15%). I would like some feedback on how I did.

Based on your responses I did the following scenarios:

Transaction 1:
1 Newspaper
2 Royal gelatin
1 Robitussin 2GO
1 Vaseline Sheer Infusion

In-Ad cpn for Royal gelatin
$1.50/1 Vaseline Online Coupon
$8RR from Theraflu last week

OOP = $0.17 + $0.70 (tax) = $0.87
RR received: $2.50 for Robitussin + $7 for Vaseline

Transaction 2:
1 Vaseline Sheer Infusion
1 Robitussin 2GO
1 Halls cough drops
2 Newspapers

$1.50/1 Vaseline Online Coupon
$0.50 Halls Coupon
$9RR from Zantac last week

OOP = $0.45 + $0.77 (tax) = $1.22
RR received: $2.50 for Robitussin, $7 for Vaseline, $1 for Halls cough drops

Thus, I was able to get my newspapers for this weeks coupons.
Thanks in advance for your responses!
Jennifer
