Default "It" won't allow it...

Tonight I tried to do the Triaminic RR deal. I was buying 2 Triaminics and 1 Theraflu. I had 1 $3/2 Triaminic man. Q, 2 $2/1 WAGS Q's, $1.50/1 Theraflu man Q and $2/1 WAGS Q. I was told "It won't allow it." So I asked the cashier what the problem was. She told me I couldn't use the 2 $2/1 Q's and the manufacturer's Q's. I told her I didn't understand because I have never had a problem combining Walgreen's coupons with manufacturer's coupons. The manager happened to walk by and his response was the same as the cashier's. I told the manager the same thing I had told the cashier and she tried to ring the coupon in again (the WAGS one wasn't working) and again I was told "It" won't allow it. I looked at them and said that's fine, I'll go to the store near my house, they work fine there. The the cashier asked me if I still wanted my stuff. I said no and she said "Any of it?" NO, none of it. I still don't understand what "It" is. Could they be more unintelligent with their responses? Is it the cash register, the coupon or maybe the cashier that is unwilling to push the Q through? Earlier I had a problem with the WAGS Q's because they just didn't work at all.

And now I know why everyone gets frustrated with Walgreens.

did you use fillers to make up for the number of coupons used? You bought 3 products and had 6 coupons. I think the instant value coupons count but the in-ad coupons don't. And a coupon like $3/2 counts as 2. i added the yardley soap as a filler with the in-ad coupon because that doesn't count. So I didn't have any problems. There are lots of posts on this section on using fillers, so that's how I kinds figured it out, at least enough so I can get it to work now, lol. Too many regulations with wags, but at least you aren't limited to only one RR for the entire sale, just have to do more transactions.

When I did the Theraflu deal a couple of weeks ago, there was one of my local stores where the Wags Q wouldn't ring up, and I got the line that I had to buy the one in the picture. It worked fine at both of my other stores though. But like a previous poster said, the IVC Qs do count in your coupon total, so that may have been your problem too if you didn't have any fillers.

I had a similar problem with the Theraflu coupons. I think there's something wrong with them. I had a large transaction and they scanned the 3 $1.50 off 1 coupons first then the Healthy Savings coupon and it beeped "ITEM NOT FOUND"! They had not scanned my other 14 coupons yet. So it wasn't the item to coupon ratio thing. But I went to a different register and it worked fine! I swear.....if I hear.."it won't take it!" one more time. I actually asked the cashier if she was smarter than the computer? Because you're basically telling me that it is making a more intelligent decision than you! She just looked at me with this stare! I know that these people bascically do their job just for a paycheck and really have NO interest in the right way of doing things. But just like at Target....it's NOT my job to educate a stores employees on their policies and procedures!

This happened at 2 WAGS for me and the fix was to ring the manufacturer's coupons first and then the WAGS coupons. Usually, they do it the other way around, so even the cashiers didn't get why it wasn't working. A smart manager at one store said to try it the other way around. At my other store, the manager just did an override.

I had plenty of fillers for the transaction so I know that wasn't the problem. I think it was the Q. I did the same thing with the Theraflu earlier and the nice cashier said they had so many problems with those not going through at all she just hit the buttons to make it work. This cashier, however, tried to tell me you can't use the WAGS Q with the man. Q. I think she was just too lazy to reach over and hit the button to make it work.

For some reason the Walgreens coupon was not scanning and the register was showing "item not found". The store manager was nice enough to adjust the price down to $2.99 (sale price was $4.99). and then scan my manufacturer's coupons. I did the Triaminic deal three times and the Theraflu one time. Not bad at all!
