What did I do wrong? RR's coupons

Ok, so I went to Wags to use some of my RR's and was hit with a road block I need some help to figure out what I did wrong...
I wanted to purchase:

2 bags of Nestle candy on sale for 2/$4
1 Olay facial wash

I had a $1off two bags of Nestle candy and a $1 RR and a $4 RR

Wags system scanned the $1 Nestle coupon and the $4 RR coupon but when it went to scan the additional $1 RR coupon the system said coupon limit exceeded and would not take it.

Does anyone know why it did this? TIA!

The candy coupon for $1/2 is counted as 2 coupons since it really is for 2 items total. The same thing happened to me when I tried to use 2 of the $1.25/2 Quaker Oatmeal coupons and a RR on 4 boxes of oatmeal, I still needed a filler item.

I almost think that maybe WAGS changed their computer system recently, because I've been having coupon trouble recently with scenarios similar to what has worked in the past. Today for example, they had to ring the manufacturer's coupons first and then the WAGS coupons to make it work, when normally it has always been the other way around. I had problems at 2 different WAGS.

Ditto with me when I used the $3/2 Theraflu and Triaminic Q's. I was very confused, but bought a 13 cent pencil as a filler to remedy the problem (the in-ad Q's don't count towards your Q total).

that's the thing for Wags....always have a small filler. I've never had a problem that I can recall because whenever I use RR's I always have fillers....I keep an eye out as I walk the store....from a piece of candy to a 90% off toy I find bargains all over the place

For some of my transactions this week I used a 29 cent PB Lovers Reese's cup- SOOO delish.
