Angry Wags Items FREE After RR...Rebates?

Hey everyone. Remember a month ago when Wags had their Men's Zone razor buy one at xx.xx get a RR for xx.xx good on your next purchase? I got a raincheck for the razor (DH did too...) because they were out of stock ALL WEEK on it. So I was in Wags this morning & see that they FINALLY have it in stock & get one. The teenager at the register wasn't sure how to do it (neither was I, admittedly), so he calls over the asst manager. She looks at the raincheck & says "we can't give things away. I can't do this". I said "it's a raincheck issued by your store--you have to". she's rolled her eyes, saw my $2.91 balance & 2 full bags of stuff, pursed her lips & was like "I'ma do it this time but we don't give things away. we don't give rainchecks on sale items. It's limited to what we have in stock". I was embarrassed & just wanted to leave. This is the asst manager that always gives me a hard time (I've emailed corp about her before but obviously nothing's been done)and I didn't want to get into it with her. (and the cashier was sniffling & coughing all over the place, so I really just wanted to go to my car & get to my sanitizing wipes...just a side note .

So all that is to say (sorry--had to get it out, you know?): does anyone know what the policy is for this type of situation? Why don't they do it like CVS where they charge you for the item at the sale price & print ECBs to use on your next visit?

Any help would be appreciated because I still have DH's raincheck to redeem & I want to be armed with knowledge. Wags hath no fury like a couponer scorned!!!!

And the deeper question is: why do I continue to torture myself by shopping at Wags? DH asks me that all the time...

Did you happen to go to Trexlertown Wags? I recently cut all ties to Wags b/c of the horrible asst. manager there. Corp. was apologetic but the store manager was just trying to appease me with a half a**ed appology.

I've never redeemed a rain check there so I can't help on that one. There are a few decent Wags in our area though. I've had good cashiers at 5th St. and I heard the Tilghman St one is okay. I hope someone can answer your question.

I would suggest just sticking with CVS. I've been getting good deals and no issues w/ ecb's and q's. In fact, just the other day I bought 2 things and uesd 5 q's and my ecb's printed w/o issue.

Maybe you continue to shop there because you know it's not fair that you are being made to feel like a thief and a beggar by taking advantage of a deal THEY offered!!!
You don't want to just sit hear and hear of everyone else's good deals....you want to go get them yourself and dang it, you should be able to!!!

sounds like we really have some winners in our area... This was @ the Tilghman Street Wags. I liked going there when I 1st started couponing because they're 24 hours, but I'm def fed up. I've driven past the Trexlertown one but have never been in--from your post, I don't think I will be, either. Thanks for the feedback--I appreciate it!

I've never been able to get a raincheck for an item with a RR. I have at CVS though.

Ok... hmmm...

Don't just call corporate... Call the district manager. Be professional but stern... Tell him this is not the only time this Asst. Manager.. has been completely rude and it is entirely unacceptable in today's economy. Name names... Tell him you have called about this particular person before and she continues to be rude and obnoxious. Tell him you are more than happy to abide by the rules, however you expect that HIS PEOPLE be well trained in proper technique and EXCELLENT customer care. Anything less is grounds for dismissal in your opinion.... Then strongly urge the DM to fix it.

Take down his/her Name, and phone number... program it into your cell phone. Next time you have a problem with this Asst. Manager... whip out your phone and say... Well, we will see what your DM Mr. Smith has to say about this.... and call right in front of her.
