Angry so mad I could spit

I stopped shoppig wags a while ago because their customer service sucks, they took away the ESR and they are, in general, a pain. Looks like I was right!

Went to one store and after I gather all my purchases together, an employee informs me that their store policy is to limit the number of RR promo items a customer can purchase to 3 per day. Uh, what? How exactly do they expect to be able to enforce that? So if I go in the morning and purchase 3 and come back in the afternoon and try to purchase 3 more, they are going to throw me out of the store, call the Wags police? What? I tell them I have never had a wags do that and I'll just take my business elsewhere.

Go to store #2.... Had to ask for an employee to unlock the razors (Do they think we are going to break them open and start shaving our legs in the store?). Took forEVER for someone to come, then she tells me they limit the number of like items a person can purchase to 2, but will make an exception for me and ALLOW to purchase 3. Make my way to the beauty counter after gathering 3 of each RR item. Doing the theraflu 1st, with a sally hansen polish that is 2.59. hand over my $5 sally hansen RR and she tells me she can'y take it because the polish isn't $5. I tell her nowhere does it have that restriction on the RR and it will scan fine. She calls the MOD over, who tells me that I can't use it. We go back and forth a minute and I tell her it WILL scan just fine. She scans it and whaddaya know, it goes through. She then says " Oh no, we can't have this" and proceeds to put her key in the register. I tell her if you are going to adjust it down to the 2.59, I will take my RR back and go to another Wags that WILL accept it, since I went to 4 of them last week. She says "You do that" (!!!!) and then tells the cashier to ring up the rest of my purchases. I laughed at her and told her "You don't seem to understand, I will take ALL my business to another Wags" and then asked her to confirm that they limit how many items customers can purchase at their store. She confirmed it and tried to tell me the reason why. I told her I didn't care what the reason was, I just wanted to know for sure that this was indeed their policy so that when I call corporate tomorrow, I'm giving them the correct info.

And then I left. With no deals!!!!

In my experience, it is at the discretion of the manager(s)/store owner(s) as to the limits imposed regarding RR deals.

I've never shopped at a wags that imposed limits on number of RR items, but /i suppose there is a first time for everything. *sigh* I am still calling customer service in the morning to see what they say. I have a feeling I'll just shop at the 3-4 stores I shopped at last week from now on...

Keep in mind that some Wags do limit quantities so that 1 person can't/won't wipe out their stock. I've had a manager ask me politely to limit my purchase on a Wednesday, so there are some for another customer and that I could come back after the truck comes on friday and purchase many more... he was very polite and assured me that I could get many more later... so I obliged, politely.

If they give you problems, I suggest to send an email to Walgreens using the Contact Us online. I did it on Friday night, and when I came in Sunday morning (to the same Walgreens), they pretty much tried to give me anything I wanted

I agree that the customer service in most Wags stores is seriously lacking. Also agree with others that the manager has the right to limit quantities. Some do, some don't. One store in my town does to keep one lady from clearing them out.

I'm confused about your OP. Are you saying you tried to purchase theraflu AND nail polish and they wouldn't accept the RR because the nail polish wasn't $5?

yup, exactly right. That didn't happen at the 3-4 stores I did the s.h. deal at last week. what made me the angriest was just her attitude and that she said "oh no, we can't have this" when she saw that the $5 cat gives the overage. Like I told her, I'll just take my business to any of the 30 other stores in the socal area that treat me and my money better.

Fortunately (and thanks to this site for guiding me) I haven't had much trouble on the two trips I've made to our local Walgreens. This site helped me go in with a plan and aware of the issues that tend to cause problems. Mine apparantly doesn't limit the number of rewards because I got about 5 of them yesterday worth a total of $24. I planned my list and my Q's to work with the RR's I recieved on my first trip and since they don't allow you to have more Q's than items in your cart that can be tricky if you have coupons. By the way, a good filler to get the numbers to even out are the Puffs Plus tissues this week which are on sale for .89 a box.

I do not know the exact verbiage on the Sally Hansen RR as I never did the deal myself, but I would not hold it against her(attitude aside) if she was uncomfortable with taking it seeing as you did only get one Sally Hansen nail polish and the coupon states or seems to infer it is meant to be used on Sally Hansen products $5 and over.

I find it best to treat each WAGs I shop at like its own island onto itself. Comparing them may only cause frustration as each one can have different rules, attitudes, or policies if they so choose to. Unless there is a breach of corporate policy or customer service I do not bother with calling, but rather just go to another store.

I agree with Lucy. If I don't like one WAGS, I simply go to another one that is friendlier... or I find a cashier that I've made friends with. It makes all the diff in the world.
