Default ? about using RR

Hi, I don't go to walgreens very much b/c I had a bad first experience there so I'm not sure about the rules on register rewards. I have $2 RR and am planning on buying the True north snack for $3 (and get $3 RR back) plus a $1 IP q.

So to use my $2 RR to pay for the purchase I would need to add in a filler without using a q on it, like a pack of gum right? because the RR says its a manufacturer's q. Am I understanding this? Thanks.

You are correct. In order to use 2 coupons, you have to have two items. So, you can pick up a pak of gum or one of the caramels that are usually by the registers.

HTH.

Default Another RR question...

I was at Wags buying the Ghirardelli chocolate bars on clearance. I purchased several of them, and used the Instant Value Q from the Wags September Coupon Book. I wasn't buying anything else on this transaction. I handed my two RRs to the manager who was ringing me up. Manager told me that I could not use RRs to pay for this transaction, because the Instant Value Q from the flyer was a manufacturer Q. Even though I was purchasing several chocolate bars and only using one Instant Value Q, she said because the register multiplied the Q's value by the number of chocolate bars I was buying, that in essence a MQ was used on every item I was purchasing. Therefore, did not have any non-Q items to use the RRs against.

This seems to make sense, but wondered if anyone else has ever had this experience.

I noticed they are ringing mfq's but I also note that they are not collecting them to send in for reimbursement, so how exactly are they manufacturer coupons if the manufacturer is not receiving them for reimbursement?

Store mgr told me they do get reimbursed from manufacturer for these Qs. At this store, they did collect them. It was flagged as a MQ on my register tape. Wonder why stores are handling it differently?
