Default LONG,Funny story & how I got rid of them following me

At my closest wags I only usually have Q problems when they have new employees & they haven't have any in a few months. The 1's that are there have had me call corporate several times-so they all now their own corporate policy. LOL
Also-when I complained about that store to the 1 across town the manager smiled & said he'd heard that complaint many times & was more than happy to take my q's & money. For me to just come on over there.
I know the "posse" feeling too. After I showed them that I noticed them & didn't care-they quit. I just kept asking them to go get this product or that product for me. At first I would ask them "Can I help you?" to let them know I saw them. Then I decided to put them to work. They quit following me pretty quick after I started putting them to work. I guess they realized they looked silly. Now my entire right side shoulder to hip is twisted & many days I'm on a cane from the pain. When not on the cane I walk with a significant twist & stoop on my right side. So I may only have gotten away with it because who is gonna say no to a crippled, twisted, gray headed 50 something year old lady. LOL
At that same store-1/2 a block from my house, mind you: I go a couple of times a week to pick up milk, etc -I picked up a medium small bottle of expensive shampoo(I forget the brand name at the moment) that was in the back with the clearance stuff marked 49 cents with a red tag on it. So I picked it up for 1 of the lady soldiers I send out to(which they know I do it). I get to the front to check out, had half the buggy full with items & q's & that 49 cent bottle of shampoo(that I was NOT using a q for, but as a filler & a soldier gift) won't ring up. So the cashier calls for the manager & it happens to be the store manager-not any assistant, the head store manager himself. He kinda snarls "I am the 1 that enters all new clearance sale items every week on the computer personally. This bottle did not belong there with this tag." I gotta tell ya'll I saw absolutely red with rage. I have no idea what my face looked(I imagine it was NOT pretty though) like at the moment that I made my crippled self stand straight up with anger & snarled right back at him "What are you saying? Are you accusing ME of changing that tag? Are you saying I was trying to steal by cheating?" He then said "Oh no maam that's not what I meant" Trying to back track, noapology though. But I knew 2 cashiers had heard every word of this & would tell the others. And that's not counting the other customers in there I was NOT having that. IF you can insult me in front of them-you can make it right in front of them Not to mention I was highly insulted to be called a thief. So looking him directly in the face for I guess maybe 20 seconds or so, while I struggled to regain my composure(I swear LOL-it was like everyone stopped in the store to watch) I was finally able to say-as loudly as he had-"If you think I am stealing I demand you call the police to sort this out, which I am sure will get the attention of the newspaper. If you just didn't mean it the way it sounded & do not think I am stealing I demand an apology. I did not hear an apology or hear you say in front of all these people(with my extra added effect of my Vanna White wave of my hand to the other customers & the 2 cashiers) that I am NOT stealing. I use coupons & pair them up with sales to get everything as cheap as I can because a disability check does not go very far, but I DO NOT STEAL." I got my apology. He then said either they had accidently done the red tag or another customer must have. I then told him I did not want the shampoo & that he was depriving a female soldier a gift. I was still talking as loudly as he had when he snarled at me. He was then almost begging to be able to give me the shampoo at 49 cents. So I agreed, but made the point that I was only taking it for my soldier, that I would not have taken it at all for myself. This manager now avoids me like the plague, as do all the assistant managers. Or they can't do enough for me if I ask a question
I guess my point is you have to sometimes stand up to them. Usually I am easy to get along with, have a smile for the cashiers, make small talk, ask about their kids, ask to see their pics of the kids, show my grandbabys pic, etc. I do not expect them to kiss my butt or make an exception for me. I try to be considerate by going to cosmetics or photos to check out. I go there 30 minutes before closing(in case there is a problem q) so they can check me out & not have to stay late. I do not want to take advantage of any of them-I just want my fair deal they advertised & to be able to use my q's with that. That's all. I've made sure every store I go to knows my q's are for us on disability, for the food bank, & for my soldiers I send stuff to.
BUT feeling like I'd been called a thief-in view of other people no less- was just more than I could take.
When I go there any more the only time I have a "posse" is when they all gather around to watch to see how low I can get my total with the coupons & the sale & the register rewards. It's too funny-they are all wanting to check me out now. I've given most of them my index card.
I have written out on a lined index card this website & a competing website. Then written in(below that) how they'd be surprised on how much they can save by watching the sales, matching them up with coupons, & buying several of an item then. How they could always have plenty of food & all the basics for pretty cheap. How it doesn't really take more than a few hours a week after you know what you are doing. That all they had to do was go to the 2 websites & read what was on them to learn it. How they could help the food bank & buy for soldiers for almost nothing. (Here in my town we have a chapter of the Blue Star mothers & a war museum. The mothers are either 1's that have lost a child in battle or have a child serving over there right now. There's also many veterans groups, VFW, etc that help. I drop off the stuff that I got free or for pennies & am I'm donating at the war museum & they mail it off. On disability I could not do this if I had to mail it). They are always thrilled to get it to send. I swear the 1st time I did it a Blue Star mother cried in front of me. Said no one else had offered them stuff like that. I was horrified that no one else had. It made me more determined to get stuff for them. I gave her my index card & I hope they are now busily q'ing.
I hand these index cards to anyone that asks.
Thanks for listening, Becky

Default dudette(love that you call yourself that)

Good for you standing up for yourself. Some people just cannot fathom how we do the deals we do so logically(to them) it discounts them & and with most things not understood/accepted it creates animosity or worse yet jealousy.

You know what I say to that? Get over yourself!

P.S.

Great job donating & spreading the coupon love.

Quick update - Went to the store again last night. Not a single problem. Used many, many coupons with little to no regard...just how I like it.
