WGS Corp. policy requires they adjust the item for you. Some stores will adjust the Q-I've seen it both ways. Call Corp if you keep running into this issue-be sure to get the store mgr. name and store number-the customer service rep will be looking the store up while talking with you. They will have that mgr. call you back.
This is the voice of experience-in my case, it was the Reynold's foil. |

just politely ask for the manager. if he/she says they cannot adjust the coupon down to the price of the item, ask them politely to call corporate as every time you encounter this, you call them, and they always tell you that is their policy. you would really appreciate it if they would call them also as it seems weird they would tell managers and customers something different. takes just a few minutes and you educate the manger in a polite way!

They are not on clearance in the Los Angeles area Walgreens.
They are on special price for 99 cents each for the 55 yard floss until June 27th. I used the coupons yesterday and only had to pay the tax for 4 of them. I am not sure if it was because the cashier did not notice the price but the register did not even beep. |

I too had some difficulty with the store shift mgr when doing this deal. I had 5 Q's and asked him if he would take them to make the floss free. "Oh, we can't do that-it exceeds the price of the item". Brother. He went to the back of the store & when he came back he said he could do it.(Perhaps a man behind the curtain with magic powers gave him the o k)
![]() He raised the price of each floss to $1. matching the cpon amount. This is brain surgery, folks.

I went on Saturday and had 4 coupons for $1.00 each left for the Reach floss and they had 4 left @ 99 cents each on the racks. I was surprised since this was the last day of the sale.
Since it was only 4 items and I had 4 coupons, I didn't think it would be an issue and I would have to pay for is the tax. I get to the register and the machine beeps. The cashier hands them back to me and says matter-of-factly "you cannot use the coupons because that will make them free". I said I would pay the tax and he said "we don't do that at this store...if the machine beeps, we don't accept the coupon". The cashier next to him agreed and noted that they expired in May (the coupons expire NEXT May...2010!!!). I told him to manually over-ride the price to $1.00 and the coupons will work. He said he cannot do that so I asked to see the manager. He came over and said exactly what the two cashiers said. I asked him if he could please TRY it to see if it worked. He said he had never heard of changing a price before and I said it is in their coupon guidelines. He tried and guess what? It worked!!! It came out to 36 cents for the tax and I could tell that they did not like me. Did I care? NOOOOO! |
