Zucol at Wag's

Was posting about this elsewhere, and thought I would mention it here. My DH tried this product and loved it. He felt it cut short an impending cold. He is around a lot of sick people lately and started taking it when he got symptoms. It has a different active ingredient than Airborne, and studies in Germany have shown positive results in regard to bronchitis and other conditions. (Study info per ConsumerLab.com, an independent site I subscribe to that evaluates vitamins and other supplements to determine if they contain the ingredients they claim, how well they absorb, any possible interactions, etc.)

Our walgreens never got it! I am so disappointed. I would love to try the Zucol. We live in a rural small city, so I only have one store to shop at. It's usually a great Walgreens, though.

I just downloaded the Q, no prob. Thanks for letting us know how much he liked it. We like Zicam. Have you tried that? Can anyone compare Zucol to Zicam?

I was able to print the Q yesterday afternoon, but my Wags was out of the product!

Hey Jenni. I have not tried Zicam. I just did some research for comparison purposes and found that the active ingredient in Zucol is different than the one in Zicam.

I found these clinical studies about Zucol's active ingredient on their web site, and some other studies on a site I subscribe to.

And there was a Cleveland Clinic study about zinc, the ingredient in Zicam, which I found below and also at the Zicam web site. Sounds like lozenges might be the best delivery method for zinc products?

Also, there was a class action lawsuit over the nasal gel version of Zicam.

All this is not to say that one is better or worse than the other. It sounds like they work in different ways. And everyone is different, so one brand might work better for some than others.

I came home with a scratchy throat today and remembered that I had gotten Zucol at the beginning of the month. So I went and took one...hope it helps because I feel terrible and my nose is stuffy. My students have been sick so guess I finally got it.
