I have a couple of register rewards that I got from WAGS last week. They expire Monday and Wednesday, but I really don't see anything I want this week. So, my question is, what happens when you return an item that came with RR? Will they take the RR amount out of my refund (which would completely defeat the purpose of the return)?
BTW-just started the week of the 8th and I'm amazed how much I've already gotten for free or next to nothing! I don't know where I'm going to put it all. And I'm looking forward to stopping at Walmart tomorrow for my baseball card sleeves to get better organized. |

When you return something that earned a RR you are supposed to return the RR if you still have it in your possession. If you've already used it then yes it should be deducted from the refundable amount.
It doesn't really defeat the purpose of the return if you do not want that product and if the RR wasn't earned by spending a certain amount, like spend $25 and save $5 on total transaction. If the item was $8 and you used a $4 q and got a 4RR then returned the item you would still receive the amount you paid for it which would have been $8 ($4q+$4cash or recharged gift card). You just wouldn't have the RR to spend on something else.

Thanks FunnyFace. I do have the RR, so I will bring them with me. These two items weren't essential for me, I just picked them up for the sport of it, since they were better than free after q + RR. But if I can't use the RR before it expires, then I will have spent $8 for them, so I think I'll just return them.

What I have found to be true at my 2 regular WAGS is that you will only get back the cash that you have actually paid for an item. They will deduct the RR and the coupon. If the item was $9 (like one of the Razor deals), you used a $4 coupon, and there was a $4 RR...there would be $1 refunded because that's all you actually paid for the item.
Otherwise, in addition to every coupon savvy person coming in to get a cheap or free razor, you would have a ton of people coming in to return the razors so that they'd end up with $8 cash (or $4 cash and $4 RR) in exchange for a $4 coupon that they clipped out of the paper and taking the time to come in and buy the razor and then return it. Likewise with just keeping the RR. I've gotten about $20 in RR over the past 2 weeks. Now if I had returned all of those items and got to keep the $20 RR, I'm sure WAGS would be out of business in a week with every unscrupulous person in the world buying up the RR items and returning them so they could keep the RR and get back the full price they paid. |

Hmmm...I've never returned anything that I've gotten a RR with from buying.
Returned items that I had Qs for in which I was returned the entire amount not what was less the Q, and once something I had bought with an RR(not the only thing on the receipt) and I got the whole amount back. I have been told the same thing each time that the coupons and RRs are seen as cash and in their system, as such, I am given the entire amount back in cash as I paid for the items and they are unable to retrieve the coupons for me to put me back to where I started.

I think my refund where they wouldn't give me the $ back for the coupon was with the jerky manager who gave me all sorts of problems. He had no idea what the store policies were and just made it up as he went along. I was buying the Gamer and it wouldn't print RR, so I returned it. The manager refunded me the $4.99 in cash that I paid, but not the $4 for the coupon that I gave him. I had to convince them to give me back my coupon so I could use it elsewhere. It sounds like I should get back either the face value of the coupon in my refund or I should get back the coupon...good to know for the future.
But I think the question is, (leaving the coupon out of the equation and just making up numbers) if you bought something that was $6 out of pocket, and then the machine printed $4 RR for you, would you get to keep the $4 RR if you returned the item as well as getting a $6 cash refund. I'm thinking that you would only get $2 cash refund ($6 OOP - $4 RR) unless you return the RR because otherwise, you're essentially getting a $10 refund when you only spent $6. Wouldn't people (bad people) do this all week long to keep racking up a $4 (or more) profit on each transaction by just buying items that print RR's and returning them for the full purchase price? I guess we won't know for certain until we hear from someone who has returned an item for which they earned RR's. |

In my experience, they don't keep track of whether you got a RR or not. When I returned a RR item I gave them back the RR b/c I believe in being honest. Not sure what would have happened if I had already used the RR. I guess fess up to the manager doing the return.
