Angry PO'ed at WAGS...long post

Here's the letter I sent to customer service,

Today I was shopping at your store and was rudely treated by both the manager, Jason, and the cashier, Diane B. Upon trying to use a coupon for Yes to Carrots, which I printed from your website this morning, I was told it would not go through and a manager was needed. The manager tried the coupon manually and it wouldn't work for him either. Then they proceeded to tell me that because it was on sale that the Q would not work; which I know is not true because your Sunday flyers all say "see Sunday papers for additional savings". By this time there were numerous people in line and the manner in which they were speaking to me made for an uncomfortable situation. People were looking at me like I was an idiot or trying to steal; which neither quite frankly is true. Then I tried to use a Register Reward from a purchase made last week and was told it wouldn't work because I had too many manufacture Q's however, I had less coupons than items purchased and as the reward states that is the criteria for usage. I mention this and then am told repeatedly that I am wrong. The manager didn't not even attempt to defuse the situation at that time. I accept what "Diane" said and continued to just pay for my purchase. She continued to try and tell me the coupon policy as if I am trying to abuse it, which I was doing no wrong the inference annoys me. I hope to hear from you regarding the policies for your company regarding coupons, as well as what job qualities are required when it comes to customer service. I enjoy the great deals that your store offers but it is not worth the humiliation I feel when talked down to like a thief.

What do you ladies think?

I am glad you took the time to write about your situation. If we all wrote WAGS about our negative situations, then it might prompt them to issue a corp coupon policy.

Wink In this economy, the customer can win.....

Rude treatment is just not acceptable.....However....What I notice about Walgreens is that they lack a consistent policy when it comes to coupons anyhow, and it is no wonder that they are struggling a little bit.....and IMHO....the Register Rewards program should be completely eliminated. In this difficult economy, there needs to be consistency throughout your chain, or else the customers will always elect to do their business elsewhere. (HTH).

Can we say E-C-B anyone? Totally agree! I have 2 stores that I go to frequently near me, and one that I visit when I visit my inlaws. NONE of them have the same policies! At one of them, you can't use manufacturer's Q's with a RR to pay for a purchase (how ridiculous is this). At one of them, you can't use more than 1 RR to pay for a purchase. The other, anything goes. They'll scan a Q and if it won't scan they'll push it through. I prefer this store simply because it does pretty much exactly what the policy states its supposed to.

I sent an e-mail regarding RR yesterday, hopefully I'll get an official policy from them soon.

I think you should shop at CVS exclusively and I hope you get a resolution soon......I have slowed WAY down with WAGS b/c CVS is so much easier and friendlier and consistent.........Ya never know whats going to happen at WAGS and I don't like it........keep us posted......

Nice letter. Clearly described what happened and your feelings on the matter.

No excuse for such behavior. If you are in customer service...act like it.

Default Problems with rude managers at Walgreens!!!

I have a problem last week and posted here. I did contact the company through the Walgreens Web Site. Saturday, guess who called me the lady at Walgreens (the manager) that I complained on. She said, did I really say those things to you. She said, did I offend you? I said, yes, you made me feel like a criminal and I was doing something wrong, because I was trying to buy 2 fusion razors and had bought 1 the day before. She apologized and was very nice. That was nice of her to call, but I still don't want to go in that store, as I felt like a thief, so I will shop the one closer to my home, with never a problem. Sorry you had a problem too.

OMG. that's the first time I have ever heard of the actual offending person calling.....can we say "awkward"? I don't know if I would like that or love it. I'll have to think about it............

I wouldn't dig it.

In this instance, the manager already offended nana once and then had to ask if she was really that offensive. Tells me she thought nothing of her actions nor does she really believe herself to be that way, as such, a waste of time.
