When you goto walmart make sure you bring the competitors flyers. Not the coupons the competitors bring there ads. If something is cheaper at another store and you have proof they will honor it. If the cashier says they do not do that then get a manager, I guess its there policy to meet prices.
I went there this weekend and took a albertsons add with me. They had electasol tabs on sale for 2.34 at Alberstons and Walmart matched that price and with the 2.25 coupon I got it for .09c a piece and I got 2 and a jet dry for 1.00. Also got quaker boxes of cereal and snack supplies advertised at Albertsons for $1.50 they matched it and with coupons I got most for .90c. So keep that in mind when you are shopping. You can get some good deals with them matching competitors flyers. |

we went this morning and price matched our suave products with Reasors
Walmart price = 1.29 each Reasors price = .69 each minus the $1.00 Q (we had 5) made .31 each = $1.55 and all 5 items were free!!!

So, do you tell the cashier as she/he is ringing up each item that "XYZ has that for xxx this week." And then they adjust the price? Just curious how this works. Do you price adjust multiple items? What is the best way to keep track of what needs to be matched. I can totally see myself missing half the stuff that needs adjusted!

That's great advice -- and some good questions here! I feel like I need a "portable office" to go shopping.... LOL.... A briefcase, at least, for coupons, circulars, store policies, calculator, lists, pens, wallet.... Why isn't life simple? LOL.
Thanks for the info, homemommy2. It would be so much easier to get things in one place -- I usually do the running around. (I was told, by a Wal-Mart cashier, that they take competitors' coupons if the bar codes are on them.) |

And the way I do it is I have a blank sheet of paper and a pen with me, and if I see something while I am shopping that is cheaper in one of my ad's I write that item, sale price, and pg # under that store's name... then when I get to the registers, I try to keep all the items from each (other) store that I want to comp together... this way I can pull out 1 ad, show it to them if they need to see it (and sometimes they want to see the date of the ad) say this is on sale at *** for ??? they change the price, after all the items for 'say' target ... have been price matched, I move to 'say' walgreens, and have them price match them and so on... It is easier for me this way than to have everything on the belt and be trying to remember ... ok that needs to be price matched with ??? and have to start looking threw all the ads I have with me to find the item,,, and then the next item being rung up you go threw the same thing... way to much work that way... if I have the page # listed and the price sometimes they don't even ask to see the ad... making it even easier...
