    Lightbulb Tide 97c vs $1.00 q.....

I went to Walmart last week w/1 Q for the Tide travel size-cashier double checked the Q-couldn't figure out what to do. I explained what the Q was and the travel size 97c. She finally put in the 97c and it went through. Today-I go with 4 Q's and purchased 4 Tide travel sizes and waterproof camera(cheaper there than cvs, etc). Well, again the cashier did not know, so I explained the prices, and how the Q does not have a size limitation. She asked the head cashier-"our company policy is the item has to be more than the value of the item". I disagreed and explained how that doesn't even make sense, and the comp gets their $ bk.....etc. the cashier goes I have to go by what she says-why don't you go over to cs-so I did and the lady I know was working today. I explained to her what happened. She rang all the items up, and then did another transaction to do a return for the Tide-taxes. Has anyone else had this happen at Walmart???

I then went to Target-got 4 more Tide and used 4 Q's. I informed her the Tide is 97c nt the $1. She said let me put them through and see what happens-the register took all 4Q's subtracting the $1. I paid 48c for the 1 roll of tape that was on sale today.

I thought I would have more problems at Target than Walmart...go figure(but I have their Q policy w/me-now)!

Where do they keep the trial size Tide's? I checked the travel section of my store, and the laundry section, without luck. Maybe my store is just too small to have this item? Thanks

yes that is where they are at mine too. Interesting that the head cashier insisted the item had to be more than the value of the Q!

I refuse to shop at walmart with coupons. The only things I will buy there are a few food items that Kroger does not carry & that do not have coupons. The other day I went in to get a second All You Magazine to use the $.50/1 that was about to expire. The register would not accept the Q...the only thing I was purchasing was the All You magazine...the coupon was for an All You Magazine...and the cashier told me that I didn't have the right item?????!!! I told her that it was the only All You available and that walmart is the only place to get it, so why do you not accept it? She had no clue, of course. I could have pushed it, but I make my money back on that magazine anyway so I left. That is the last time I will every try to use a coupon at Walmart again....they just have no clue and the csm's at my store are no help either. I would much rather give my money to the stores in the area that are coupon friendly!!!

I should clarify my meaning of "travel section"...I meant that I did check the trial-size area in the shampoo aisle, to no avail. The way I wrote it, it sounded like I checked the luggage area! Whoops...Thanks though.

Couponswapster, face it girl, you have the most awesome Wal-Mart ever!!! You are sooooo lucky!!! Mine does overage if I get the right cashier. The other day though I had a cashier that told me since my q stated 1 per purchase that meant I could only use 1 coupon! I had about 25. She even asked her CSM, and the CSM agreed! I had to calmly explain what 1 per purchase means. I asked if she wanted to checkout 25 separate times then! LOL!!! Thank goodness they FINALLY got it!! I did do a coupon survey for Wal-Mart the other day and I told them about all their coupon issues with untrained cashiers and managers.

I had this exact problem at target yesterday. I wanted to buy 5 travel size tides, they were $0.97 and the coupon was $1.00/1. Because the register wouldnt take it, the cashier said I cant press K1 to force the coupon, its excluding travel size, i calmly explained the difference of coupons and so she called over a manager. The manager said they can not take the coupon because the item is $0.97 and it takes $1.00 off, they said the manufacturer will not pay them back the dollar if they sold the item for $0.97. I showed her the target coupon policy stating that the cashier can reduce the value of a coupon to the amount of the item, she than stated the coupon policy was wrong. I than left!

Same exact thing happened to me last week. I was so upset...even called corporate and they said I should be able to use them bc there were no size limitations. That cake-faced manager would not let me use them. She said well "ma'am" you can't get things for free..WHOA...
