Default Vons and IPs

Does anyone (esp SoCal) have an issue w/ Vons taking the IPs? I never have and then all of a sudden yesterday I had an issue. they didn't want to take mine for All F&C. And the cashier was a little snot about it, too.

That is silly since you can print coupons at vons.com. Maybe they need to be reminded of that!

I have run into trouble with a few cashiers. Getting to be a problem at more & more stores because of all the fraud. I just tell the cashier that I printed them from the vons website and if they still don't want to take them I call a manager. Had this problem at Albertson's too.

I haven't had a problem at my Vons (Escondido) but they do know me there. I would lean toward the cashiers who you know as pleasant (and coupon friendly). There are some in the store that I avoid and will wait in line just to get a pleasant (and coupon friendly) cashier. I did have a problem one time, and that was because it did not have some code on it. I thought it was BS, but it was a one-time occurrence.

I agree with the other poster -- have the manager come over.

I'm in Northridge and was at Vons last week...they told me they received an email from corporate telling them they can't accept IPs anymore. They took mine saying it was ok b/c the one I had said "manufactures coupon" across the top...but don't the IPs say that too?

One time the cashier called the manager and she said they will only take 1, then a different manager a different time said they will take all, then another manager said "no" all together, then another said they will take them only if they scan, if they dont scan we cannot accept them. Between managers, asst. managers and checkers all at the same store, I think they just make up what they want at that moment when I come in.

Funny thing.... my mom was a Vons checker for 25yrs, (Now retired) and said to me "whatever the customer says is always right", and at her store they always had great customer service and that is why they had such great repeat business.... her bosses were great and taught this to all of their employees. Ahh... the good ol days... when my mom was a checker and I knew all of he checkers in her store, and they took every coupon I had...

I have no luck with IP at any of the Vons that I shop at

It's been more trouble than it's worth. It's been so long since I have shopped at any of my local grocery markets. I've been shopping at S&F, TJs, 99c & Costco.

I asked the manager at my Vons about them as I walked in yesterday and he told me as long as the contract was printed on them it was ok. He happened to be working the register in the line I checked out in and I had no problem with the two IP Kellogg's Honey Nut Cheerios coupons I gave him.
