Did y'all read the comments under the full article? Wow! Some people really don't get it. I liked the one where they gave an example of number of stores, number of coupons...potential amount of windfall! It's a shame Target didn't fix its problem.

I was in Target 2 days ago and used several Q's from the Safeway book ie:
    Wesson Oil $2 - $1 MQ
    Swiss Miss cocoa 99c - $1 MQ
    2 oz McCormick Black Pepper - 93c - $1 MQ
1 oz McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract $2.19 - $1.50 MQ
NONE of the q's would scan. The cashier had to manually enter each one. Of course I was in the Express Checkout...of course there was a line behind me - ugh. What's funny is I have used these q's at other stores (before I found out about the Target sale), and they scanned just fine. Now why wouldn't Target's registers/computers accept them? Makes you wonder...

Read the comments and see some just don't understand. Target has had plenty of time to fix the problem, so I understand someone taking action. Sometimes lawsuits are not about making money, but about getting a problem fixed.

I read most of the comments. Seems that there are many folks who don't understand coupons, how they work, or why folks would continue to shop at Target, even with the known issue of coupon values.

In the past couple of months, Target has changed how the receipt prints out, making it harder to figure out if a coupon has been applied correctly. The only way I can keep track of it all is run small orders, where I can calculate what I should be paying, even if it means more orders in one trip.

Even though I don't like lawsuits that don't serve a purpose.. I see this as the only way a lowly couponer has the power to force a corporate entity to fix a problem that they know about, and should have fixed a long time ago.

Either Target should fix the problem or stop taking coupons. The lawsuit should be over Target committing coupon fraud - sending in coupons for reimbursement when they didn't give the full face value of the coupon to the customer redeeming said coupon. Target wants to tell consumers THEY (consumer) is trying to commit fraud...and I thought Walmart was a pain in the butt!
