Default Are your cashiers doing this???

I don't shop at Shaw's every week but I used the SCO(self checkout) last week and my Q's doubled no problem. The next day I went back to try to grab some good clearance deals and Morningstar burgers. I was expecting the .75 Q's to double and noticed my cashier kept hitting buttons before scanning each Q. I thought my total seemed high but I was trying to make a quick trip before going to work so I had to get home. It then hit me that maybe the Q's said DND. This has never happened to me before!! I went back tonight, different cashier, and he did the same thing!! So disappointing although I can't really argue it.

I guess I'll try the SCO but I hate it so much! Way too sensitive to everything and the whole pressure sensor/bagging issue is really lame.

I too have noticed this lately too, Shaws plus another local store I shop are not doubling anything that says DND...throws me off thats for sure....I think the only one that will do it around me is Stop n Shop, as a courtesy, but I haven't been there in months.

I haven't noticed this yet, but will definitely keep an eye out next week and report back. The weird thing is, I thought that the "double" was considered a Shaw's coupon, not a manufacturing coupon.

You're right, the double is considered a store Q and has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Still is confusing.

My usual Shaws has always doubled, but a few weeks ago I stopped at a different one. I was doing the self-scan and the supervisor came over and --- quite snotty--- opened the coupon compartment, took out all my coupons, voided my entire sale and rerang everything, checking to make sure all my coupons matched my products and making sure that the one that I had that said DND, didn't double (I had a total of about 6 items and 6 coupons - it's not like I had an entire cartful and trying to go thru the self checkout. All the time, she kept repeating that she had worked in that store for 18 years and SHE knows the policies and NO Shaws EVER doubles the DND coupons.
I'll NEVER go to that one again.

It might be worth it to explore Shaw's coupon policy. I just looked at their flyer, and it just reads, with no qualifiers that Shaw's doubles coupons up to .99. Period.

Don't know about this one. It does clearly state on the coupon, DND. My guess is that they are just following directions

Angry Shaw's not offering their store double

Just got back from Shaw's and I did a "test" purchase with a 75 cent q that said DND.

No double was given; the cashier pressed a key on her pad and so it voided the double.

Darn.
