    Default TwilightZone experience at Walgreens

I took 8 Mars $1/2 Easter Qs into Walgreens to grab some quick candy for myDDs. Took 16 Snickers Eggs to the counter.....no beeps, no problem. Cashier got it rung up and told me to "Go get more eggs.......at least 5". Who am I to argue with professionals........I go get 5 more eggs. Nothing beeped, no protest from the register at all. Looking at my reciept, I am still in a little shock. Granted, it's a small amount as the eggs are .39......but I got 5 more than I had Qs for at the direction of the cashier. Needless to say.....I took my happy butt to the car for my other 9 Qs.......rinse and repeat. Each transaction was 0.19+0.80 tax......... 99 cents per deal!!!

I got overage at Walgreens in CHOCOLATE!!!!!

I wouldn't call that the "Twilight Zone", more like "Fantasy Island".

    Nice job!

    16 - Candies @ $.39 each = $6.24 Total

    You presented (8) 2/$1 MFQs = $8 Total

I'm pretty sure the cashier had you go back and get (5) more so that it would cover the $1.66 in overage.

What I'm curious about is what if dp38587 had purchased something other than the extra Mars Candy? Is this like a Wal-Mart scenario where there is overage and anything can be used against it?

It's a great deal either way, especially since you were able to stock up on the kid's Easter baskets! Mainly curious for future scenarios.
