Family Dollar Covergirl Queen Emeryboards & Covergirl Coupons not valid

Just got back from Family Dollar to get the $1 Covergirl Queen emeryboards and was told by the manager that the Covergirl $1 coupons are not valid for this product because the emeryboards are Basset Brand not Proctor Gamble. Anyone have the same problem? I did notice the upc on the emeryboards is 73750 80062 and the coupon is 22700 99284. The manager said he would let me use the coupons this one time. Would appreciate any feedback.

I use to get the CoverGirl products like this for free all the time. The coupon is for any covergirl product but now the store want take them see some past posting of mine. I made gift sets with mine for my niece and nephew teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week one year.
