But not without a fight!!
Ok, now I know that there are miseducated cashiers no matter where you go. I went up to my beloved Meijer in Fishers this morning to use the Snapware coupons that I ordered from a clipper. ( I had trouble with the Ebay transaction too, but I tell you about that at the end...) I had 20 coupons to use, and each item that I would purchase would be free after coupons!
Snapware is on Price Drop until 1/3/2012, but the coupons expire on 12/31/2011
I had several options to pick from as that store was fully stocked. I just picked up the ones that would be free
I got (4) Snapware 2cup, 7.3-cup $1.49
-$3/1 Coupon
=FREE
I got (8)Snapware 4.8 Rectangle Cup $1.99
-$3/1 Coupon
=FREE
I got (8)Snapware 10.8 Cup $2.49
-$3/1 Coupon
= FREE
I originally had my transactions split up at 4 containers for each transaction. I believe the rule at that Meijer is 4 like coupons per transactions. This rule has been hit or miss, so I just erred on the side of caution. Anyway, I picked lady that I always go to early in the morning. She is very very sweet, but very cautious about coupons. She handled my transactions with integrity, and made sure she was able to use the coupons. Before she even scanned them she went to ask about them. She came back and began manually entering the coupons because when she scanned them they were giving overage!! I wasn't expecting overage, so I didn't fight it. Since she was entering them manually, I asked her to ring all of them up one transaction. BIG MISTAKE. When she got to about the 10th one, the system beeped..."Too many coupons". That is when the trouble started.
The CSM came over, not even taking time to research the problem..."If it don't scan, we can't take them" In the nastiest voice possible. I asked if she could please tell me what the problem was? She looked at the computer and tried to fumble her way through an explanation. I asked the cashier to please take off the ones that coupons wouldn't scan for and I will do seperate transactions.
The CSM, started reading every word of the coupons, and tried the "One coupon per purchase" excuse...I politely rebutted her arguement. The sweet cashier agreed. Then the CSM asked me if the items were on sale. I responded with yes, they are on price drop..... This is when I kinda lost my cool..... The CSM said, "I don't think you can use coupons on sale items and items that are price drop". WHAT THE HECK!! I thought I was a Walmart for a second..... I said...Ma'am ( in a not so nice voice) There are price drops all over the store, in the grocery dept, baby, etc. You mean to tell me you don't accept coupons on things that are on sale.... LMBO!!! I said, "Ma'am that is a ridicolous theory". She walked away and said "let me call my boss". She never came back, and the sweet cashier rung out the rest of my items.
I only paid tax for the items which was about $1.29. I should have gotten the overage... but oh well. I got my Snapware.
Oh yeah. I bought the coupons off Ebay since my area didn't get those in our inserts. I paid $2 for 20, which was a good price. 3 days later I received an envie from this clipper with $1/2 Gladware Qs in them. I checked my messages on Ebay with an apology stating she sent the wrong ones. I started to get angry because th coupons expire on Saturday, and I only had a limited time to use them. I got the correct coupons the very next day so no worries.
I was starting to thinK i would never be able to do this deal!!
