Default I brought CVS and Wags to their knees!

Hit the CVS and Wags near my office on the way home. Pleased that both stores had everything on my list!

I started with $14 ECB at CVS and also had a $4 off $20 purchase Q to use.

    Transaction #1
    2 – Schick Extreme Disposable Razors $8.99 each – BOGO FREE MFQ - $2 MFQ = $6.99 Total
    1 – Schick Hydro Shave Gel $4.19 - $1 MFQ = $3.19 Total (Earned $10 ECB)
    2 – Revlon Nail Clippers $2.99 each - $1 MFQ = $4.98 Total (Earned $6 ECB)
    2 – Altoids Mints $2.27 each – BOGO FREE in-store deal = $2.27 Total
    1 - Lindsey Black Olives $1 each on sale = $1 Total
I used my $4 off $20 CVS IPQ and $14 in ECB towards purchase and scanned my Green Bag Tag (Earned $1 ECB)
$2.29 Total due ($1.86 tax) (Earned $17 ECB)

    Transaction #2 ($17 ECB)
    1 – CVS 10-count Candy Canes $1.27 Total ($1.27 ECB)
    1 – Lindsey Black Olives $1 each on sale = $1 Total
    $2.27 Subtotal
    I used $1 ECB
$1.32 Total due (Earned $1.27 ECB) It didn't print and the cashier forced me a $2 ECB!

    Transaction #3 ($18 ECB)
    2 – Purex 3in1 Laundry Sheets $8.79 each – BOGO Free in-store deal – 2/$1 MFQ = $7.79 Total
    2 – Sour Patch Candy 14oz Bag $3.59 each – BOGO Free in-store deal = $3.89 Total
    2 – Jack Links Jerky Nuggets $6.99 each – BOGO Free in-store deal - $.75 MFQ = $6.14 Total
    1 – Lindsey Black Olives $1 each on sale = $1 Total
    I used $18 ECB
    $1.40 Total due ($.78 tax)

$5.01 Total OOP for all 3 transactions. I saved $76.35.

I then went down the street to Wags where I started with $7 RR ($4, $1.50, $1.50)

    Transaction #1 & #2 were the same
1 – Dove Men+Care Deodorant $3.99 each - $1 IPQ = $2.99Total (Earned $3 RR) (They had plenty of the BOGO twin packs!)
    1 – Sharpie Pen $.29 w/in-store Q = $.29 Total
    I used $1.50 RR (twice)
$2.08 Total due ($4.16 for both transactions) ($6 RR earned for both transactions)

    Transaction #3 (start w/$10 RR)
    2 – Triaminic Cold Medicine $5 each - $3 MFQ = $7 Total (Earned $3 RR)
    1 – Sharpie Pen $.29 w/in-store Q = $.29 Total
    I used $7 RR
    $.80 Total due ($.51tax) ($3 RR earned)

    Transaction #4 (start w/$6 RR)
    2 – Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Refills $3.99 each – BOGO FREE MFQ= $3.99 Total
    1 – Pledge Polish $3.99 each - $1.50 IPQ = $2.49 Total ($2 RR earned)
    1 – Sharpie Pen $.29 w/in-store Q = $.29 Total
    I used $6 RR
$1.63 Total due ($.86 tax) ($2 RR earned)

    $6.59 OOP for all 4 transactions. I saved $30.59.

All 7 transactions were $11.70 total OOP with savings of $106.94.

First of all Congratulations! SOOO Jealous!
Second of all, from what I gathered from your post, you can use register rewards to pay for your items and still get register rewards as long the item you are getting a register rewards from has an extra item to go along with it that does not print register rewards and the the number of manufacturing coupons, including the register rewards used to pay for the items, does not exceed the number of items. Is that correct?

An example would be transaction #1 and #2 at Walgreens. You use register rewards to pay for your items but you got register rewards back for qualifying items. I'm assuming it is because you bought the sharpie?

I did know you can stack coupon at CVS if you have B1G1 Mq and another Mq.

You can use a RR to pay for a transaction and still get RRs back as long as the RR is from a different manufacturer. The Sharpie was needed as a filler because the number of items cannot exceed the number of manufacturer coupons. RRs count as manufacturer coupons.

    1 Dove + 1 Sharpie = 2 items
    1 Dove Q + 1 RR = 2 coupons

    2 items + 2 coupons = Walgreens success

Thanks Bear. I knew that you can only use one manufacturing Q per item, but I didn't know that you can use a filler to get the RR's back after paying with RR's. Thanks.

The filler really didn't have anything to do with getting the new RR from his transactions, did it? You can use RR to pay for something and get new RRs only if they are from 2 different manufacturers. In his transactions 1 & 2, he used RR that he already had that apparently were not from Dove. If he had used the Dove RR he got from transaction 1 to pay for transaction #2, he would not have gotten new RR from transaction #2.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I was busy getting engaged last night.

@mm1761: Register Rewards (RR) are considered a manufacturer's coupon (MFQ). With Walgreen's (Wags) as long as you have the same number of items as coupons you are good to go. That's why people get filler items so that they can use their RR. In my first two transactions I purchased (2) items (Dove and Sharpie) and used a $1 Dove Men+Care internet print coupon (IPQ) and a $1.50 RR. The Sharpie was my filler which allowed me to use the RR. You can use a RR to pay for any item and can still earn RR as long as the RR you are using in your purchase is not from the same manufacturer that will be issuing the RR. Hope that's not too confusing! (Looks like Bear and missmbb explained better than me!)

@chel: I always try to follow the coupon rules of every store I shop in. I got the Schick Disposable Razor deal idea from another savings site. I had no problem with the transaction (no beeps or cashier issues). I did give her the $2 MFQ first before the BOGO Free MFQ, don't know if it really matters or not.

@Kristix3: Thanks! I sometimes check my CVS Extra Care Card balances online. That's where I got my $4 off $20 purchase coupon. Normally those are emailed to me. I loaded it onto my card and the cashier asked me if I wanted to use it on my first purchase. I was worried that it might not be there when I checked out but when I went to the coupon machine the last Q printed was that I had $4 off $20 purchase loaded to my card. I was fortunate that all of the items on my list were in-stock. I did get the last (2) disposable razors where I went. I noticed that they did not have the RR deal for the disposables or the shave gel on the shelf. I went to verify the advertisement and it said ALL Schick Disposable Razors were included in deal. Good luck to you!
