Default hubby is learning!!

My DH was complaining about the toothpaste the other nite. So, since he was going out, I gave him some Q's and a dollar. Superfresh has crest on sale for $2.47. I gave him 2 $1mfg q's and 2 $1 double q's from superfresh and my Superfresh savings card. He thought I was nuts only giving him a dollar and fussed that I should go get it. Told him that if he didn't like the toothpaste then go get the one he likes, just as long as he uses the coupons. After about 1/2 I get a phone call from a friend. She & her DH are at the same store and run into my DH. She had to call and tell me that besides our hubbies there are 2 other guys there trying to figure out what to do with the coupons they all had. I couldn't stop laughing. Eventually my DH made it home with his 2 tubes of crest toothpaste and told me that he was tired from trying to figure out if he was doing it right. Now I hope he understands all the time and effort it takes to find the deals. I don't think my DH will complain again about toothpaste. LOL

What they saw my dh too?

LOL Too cute! Your friend must of been trying so hard not to laugh when she saw him.... However, he will view these q's in a different light now.

That's too funny! It's true: they don't realize that we put work into getting our deals. I bet he'll ask you nicely for toothpaste now!

I try to never ask DH to go to the store because he buys way more than I ask him to. Last night it was raining and I didn't want to pack up the kids so I asked him to stop on his way home to get 3 things - green onion, sour cream, and bacon (baked potatos for dinner). He comes in with 4 bags of stuff, so proud of himself - corn flakes were only $2 a box, great price he says. I about had a heart attack. I haven't paid that much for cereal in a year and I had coupons for corn flakes!!!!

What should have been a $5 transaction was about $25. Sheesh!! Guess it's my fault for foolishly thinking he'd follow instructions

That's great! Whenever I try to send my husband to the store with coupons, he tells me he'll just wait for me to go.

It's reverse in this house. If I want to stick to 3 items I send dh to the store. In fact if I give him specific brands he's been known to drive to 3 other stores looking for it so now I have to let him know what to substitute LOL One day I look forward to turning over all the shopping to him.... Now dd is another story, geesh, she always comes home with an extra bag or two. When she gets her own home it should be interesting to see what she does.

I totally relate to this and have told DH to not shop by himself anymore! He has good intentions, but always overspends. I whish there was some device that would alert me when DH gets within fifty feet of any cash register. I figure that would give me enough time to intervene. Perhaps if it worked like a doggy shock collar or something.....

Normally I don't ask him to go but I got tired of hearing him complain. Plus it saved me the trip and saved on gas because he was headed that way anyway. He was going to Pep boys. I signed him up for the rewards card there. I got the roll of the eyes that day. LOL I went in with him and made him fill it out. LOL
