There was no double stacking! If you use the manufacturers qu and use the Target qu for the same BOGO item...they cancel each other out. You will get them for free. NOT overage. As done by many people at CVS, especially with the SOBIE BOGO offer! Or with the Little Caesar's....manufacturers qu for BOGO and Target qu FOR BOBO! It is not overage. It's completely legit!

This is true IF you get the right amount of items. You did not. You got 12 cans of dog food but used 24 coupons on those 12 cans when you should have used only 12 as each one of the BOGO stacked on each other would make all the cans free.
Ex. On Sat. I bought 10 cans. I used 5 Target & 5 MQs stacked on each other. Each coupon took off $.84 I believe which ended in me getting all the cans free.
P.S.
The CVS Sobe deal is different. There you are talking about a store BOGO sale stacked against a BOGO coupon, but in that ex. you would not get 10 bottles resutling in 5 free from the BOGO sale & then still try to use 10 BOGO coupons would you?

Sorry, I left out the 6 large cans of dog food that were purchased. Didnt realize that wasnt on my list. But in RE: to the SOBE deal...yes indeed. the limit at CVS is 4 offers on the SOBE BOGO deal...and I DID use 4 of the SOBE BOGO Manufacturers qu's. If your store allows you to use the coupons,
thats their choice.

Ok...
So you got 18 cans altogether & used 24 coupons? Still off. At max, you should have used 18 Qs total. When you have two BOGO coupons that you can stack on each other you should only be using the same # of coupons as items that you have.
As far as the Sobes, unless you got 8 bottles for the 4 BOGO Qs you had, you used them incorrectly there as well. That oversight would include the the store/cashier that accepted them.
P.S.
Whether the stores you go to allow for the coupons you have, does not not discount improper useage. Not trying to pin you to the cross here, just clarifying the correct way to use these coupons in the different scenarios/ex. that you listed.

If the store offer is buy 1 bottle get 1 bottle free...and you are allowed 4 offers...that would be 8 bottles of SOBE. Since you are puchasing 4 BOGO offers.....you can use 4 BOGO MF qu's. It is not WRONG! I'm not argueing with you over "your" coupon etiquette. That is not what this site is for. This site is for chatting about your success. Not argueing with other users. Cashier goes through qu's b4 use and makes sure you have all the items. Thanks for your constructive criticism! If you either agree or disagree...that is your choice.

As I said, if you grabbed 8 bottles with 4 BOGOs then you did right & got a great deal.

We all like to see other people's successes(I think), but when coupons are used incorrectly it should be pointed out so that person will know what should be done the next time around. Nothing to do with coupon etiquette("mine" or anyone elses), just the rules as they are.
Cashier goes through qu's b4 use and makes sure you have all the items.
If I left it up the cashier to decide whether or not I have the right coupons, I would not get some of the deals I have. Do not leave it up to the cashier to make sure you have the right coupons. Do it yourself. You planned the deals/scenarios. You make sure they are right.
Thanks for your constructive criticism! If you either agree or disagree...that is your choice.
We agree to disagree then.

Nice run! I had a similar one last week. I had so many coupons and soooo many items....that the cashier called the manager over to match the coupons to the items. I had a bunch of Target coupons....and I asked her "If you want me to seperate everything into different transaction, I will." She said "No! It's ok. As long as your items match your coupons, you're good to go." Great manager, far and few between! I had everything from, the Chef Michael's, Skittles,J&J's, General Mills, the bottles coupons. (ALL TARGET)I also did the SOBE deal at CVS, as you did. As for the person who said, that if you leave it up to the cashiers and the managers to get your transactions right....is not right. I've had some managers that will not let some coupons go. And if the manager says NO....the cashier has to do what they say! Target has so many customers because they are generous with the coupons. I read your post before where you said that they actually gave you a few coupons back because they exceeded the items purchased. I get that all the time when I cut out the Target coupons together. Some stores will only take off enough coupons to cover the entire balance of that specific item. Like if you bought 5 candy bars at $0.50 each and you had $1.00 coupons...the register will only take off $2.50 and the cashier has to reduce the last coupon to $0.50. People are always going to nit pick your deals, don't fret. You did awesome. I would like to see any of these people complaining about overage....go up and pay for their order and stop the cashier everytime she scans a coupon and say...I know the coupon is for $1.50 but the item is actually $1.29! PLEASE! For all of you people that bash a good deal....just be happy for them...because one day that will be you....and you would want people to support you! These stores know their coupons. I worked at a large retail chain for 6 years and I have seen it all! We stocked the shelves so that people could get what they want. We get reimbursed for all of our coupons! I was behind this guy in Target last week and he had litterally 100 coupons....Target and manufacturers. The register was adjusting for everything and he still walked out paying only $14.89 (TAX ONLY) His order before couppons was $249.78! I told him how awesome he did! He sadi "my wife taught me everything!" So as your mother used to tell you......If you don't have anything nice to say....then DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL! Support everyone...that's what we do here!

I dont think Lucy or anyone was bashing her in anyway. The issue is proper coupon usage. There are a lot of experienced couponers that visit the site as well as alot of newbies who are just learning how to use coupons and take these savings and examples and try to learn from them. Having overages and using to many coupons are different issues. Some stores allow overages while others dont, that is a store by store thing YMMV. I agree with Lucy, if you use more coupons than items that is incorrect usage of q's. I understand if you have one set of target q's then manufacturer q's that is totally ok, as you can stack target and manufacture q's together, fine. Maybe it was confusion. Which is fine we are all learning. When i think of bogo i think of multiplying by 2. 12 bogo q's times 2 = 24..in that instance you buy 24 of whatever and use 12 target and 12 maufacture bogo's. HTH's someone who maybe confused at any point. Couponing can get tricky sometimes, but when someone tries to inform someone that there was improper usage and next time this is how they should do it, only helps that person who just had a little oversite. JMO..

Not to beat a dead horse.....
I didn't point out the initial disparity in Q vs. item numbers to "bash" the deal- it was just to prevent someone from trying to imitate the deal and get turned away because of the problem. I LOVE seeing what kind of deals people are getting out there, and am so happy others are able to save money, including getting overages when the store allows for it. I just don't want someone else to try and do a deal, thinking it's legit, getting turned away or harassed by a cashier. Not all of us have "awesome" cashiers.

Sorry to have started a riot...
I wasn't pointing fingers at a bad deal, just the coupon usage as listed. I love seeing everyone's deals... it's a great way to make a better deal for the next person. As WeatherGirl said: I just didn't want someone else to duplicate the wrong usage... I love overage as much as the next person. I have just learned moderation. With retailers... "Too much Free for you is a bad thing." I'd hate for them to stop something becasue they realize we know how to make it the deals work for us! I've been extreme couponing for about 2 yrs now & as you learn the better it gets... I just hate to fight bc someone messed things up for everyone.
ok, hope I didn't irrate anyone further Just trying to make my point & having a real hard time here.
I hope I cleared things up a bit in regards to the PM as well.
