My family consist of 2 adults, 2 children 6 and 3 years old, and an occasional 16 year old. We have 2 cats and 3 rats....
This month I spent 1209.85
My OOP was 767.55
This doesnt include my mail in rebates.
I had no budget this month because it was my first month and I knew I would have to stockpile. I did want to stay at $800.00 which is our avg. spending for a month. I did stay a little under my $800.00! We have meat in freezer, lots of condiments (dressing ketchups, etc), a small stockpile of boxed and canned foods as well. DH is set for the summer on shampoo/deodorant and me on razors.
I want to thank everyone here for advice and all the Q trading that helped me!

Our family are two adults and one three year old.
Last month, our OOP were $323. We saved $273--almost 50%! Actually, it was over 50% because I couldn't factor in what money I saved by shopping sales and price-matching.

I got my receipts out and calculated.
I just started last week with couponing so I didn't save too much this month yet. We're a family of 3 adults (Me, my mom and my uncle) and two kids (my 3.5 and 1.5 year old girls) and a dog. (One teacup yorkie. )
This is combined from Walgreens, Target and Stop & Shop...
Before savings combined total: $235.50 (worth of items)
After savings: 160.73 (paid combined)
Savings of: $74.77
(I added my Yankee Candle savings into the above. lol)
Retail savings: (Before is first and after savings is bolded.)
Childrens Place: $79.31/ $52.12
Old Navy: $138.33/ $128.33
Ruby Tuesdays: $89.32/ $41.72/$20.86 (The 41 was split two ways.)
TOTAL: $306.96/ $201.31 <-- Total paid.
SAVED: $105.65

My husband was so amazed when I showed him the totals.
The amounts include food, dining out, household items. We have plenty of food in the fridge and cabinets. The good thing about this month is that my hubby reunited with a friend from high school who is the manager at Olive Garden and his wife is the manager of Claim Jumpers, so they invited us to eat out (4 times) and that meant no OOP for us.
Total amount: $1198.00
Saved: 926.00
OOP: $272.00
A savings of 77%
We have a family of 4 ( the DH and I + 2 boys, 10 and 7)

I wouldn't mind a few friends like that.

I spent $260.xx in May on all of our groceries, including health/beauty/paper products. I'd been keeping track of savings for a while, but slacked off, I know I'm saving, so at this point, I really don't care. This is for a family of 5.
