I just had a really awful experience at a St Louis area Schnucks. I had two Oscar Mayer bacon mfc coupons for buy two get $1.50 off. Schnucks is running a BOGO for $5.19. I picked up four packages of bacon. At the checkout, their cashier refused to honor the second OM coupon saying that technically I only bought two packages, the other two were free. The manager backed her up as did Schnucks consumer affairs representative. My argument is that I did purchase four packages of bacon. I have no control over how they negotiate their prices. In fact, they significantly jacked the regular OM price under the guise of BOGO! The really awful part was when the cashier announced in a loud voice to an already backed up line that I would be guilty of fraud if she accepted the coupon. It really embarrassed me and I'm still hot around the collar over it. The Consumer Affairs rep was a joke. All he kept repeating was that I had only bought two, the other two packages were a free gift from Schnucks. Indeed! On top of everything, when I requested to see a copy of Schnuck's coupon policy, the manager couldn't find it. She told me it was in three different places! My knee jerk reaction as I left the store was that they would never get my business again. I've reconsidered that position for cherry picking possibilities but my $600 plus per month business that I've faithfully given them for decades is over.
