    Cool i'm done with safeway!!

Well, I am new to coupons, tried safeway as I heard it is a great place to get deals, but got burned twice, the one safeway by me won't combine store with man q's!! The other will only let me use one IP per transaction, and only one store coupon per item (I had 20 ragu's and 10 store and 10 man q's and they only let me use 1) I don't understand how everyone is able to get all of these deals....it will have to be an amazing deal in order to get me in that store!!

    Is this your experience?

    Thanks!

I have never had this experience with Safeway. They have always taken all of my coupons. But now that I think of it, I don't know if I have ever attempted more than one IP at a time. Most of my qs are newspaper qs. As for the store coupons, they say what the limit is on them, but I heard a lot of people bought multiples of the Ragu, so you shouldn't have had a problem. As for combining store qs with manufacturer qs, there should be no problem with that...

After reviewing the first link, it does look like it says one store coupon per item....
Safeway is one of the pickiest stores when it comes to IPs But there are some good deals when you can line things up right, you just may have to spread out your multiples throughout the week

I hardly ever shop at Safeway. Usually run in to get the occasional amazing deal on fresh fruit. I haven't ever had much luck with them. And they have too many restrictions.

Did you ask for a manager? If so, try another store. I have shopped at 5 different stores in my area. The only restriction I've ever had is that I can only use 2 of the same IP in a transaction. Same item, same amount. Get with a manager.
    Always ISO:

    $4 Glade Sense & Spray
    Hellmans/Best Foods Mayo
    Kraft BBQ sauce
    A-1 steak sauce
    Iams dry dog food
    Coffee Mate Liquid
Ziploc/Hefty Zip or Trash bags $1+
    Lil Critters Gummy Vites

Let me know what you need in trade.

Customer service sucks and I am huge on this
    Charged the incorrect amount

    Otherwise, no issues w Q's

Always in need of New Prescription Q's, LIPTON PURE LEAF ICE TEA, SOBE or GLACEAU VITAMIN WATER Q's. Send me a PM, I'm sure I'll have what you want and then some

Well...nice to know lack of customer service at Safeway is nationwide. I will go to pick up a few deals most weeks, but I pray there are no issues because I hate dealing with the manager who is always on duty early on Sunday mornings at the Safeway in Alexandria, VA. The rest of the employees (with the exception of a guy in produce and a woman in floral) are equally rude.

I always check my receipts at every store before I leave. Like most others, Safeway has its issues. It's just an extra pain to get corrected -- and they don't have guaranteed price scan like most other stores in my area.

Never (knock on wood) had a problem with coupons -- but I don't use a lot of IPs. However, I've combined store and manufacturer Qs without issue.

The "greatest" customer service issue and the manager came the other week -- involving another customer, not me. She had her 12 month old with her shopping and locked her keys, purse, and phone in the front seat of the car as she was loading the groceries to leave. She came in and asked my cashier if there was a manager who could let her use the phone to call her husband. The manager was on the register next to mine with a customer. Granted, she couldn't just stop what she was doing to help that lady, but she could have shown an ounce of empathy and said she would be right with her as soon as she finished that transaction. Surely others in line would understand. But the manager said, what do you want me to do? just leave my register to help you? Of course, that really upset the customer. I thought she and her baby both were going to cry. So, I offered her my cell phone while I finished checking out. Her husband was there by the time I got to the parking lot.

That's typical Safeway service. I go to get their loss leaders and get out of there.

Yes, the manager came out, said only one safeway coupon per household....I only have two in my area, the other one is worse than this one....

As much as i don't like walmart, i am wondering if i can try to get walmart to price it down to the sale price and safeway coupon?? So a ragu would be .75?? Any ideas??

I know how frustrating it is to deal with situations like this. I live in a metro area and we have three Safeway stores with a 6 mile radius. One store which is closer to me I don't even go to anymore because they don't accept IPs. I go to two other stores and have not had any problems. Customer service is always friendly and willing to help. I use the sites where I can load Qs on my card and when it didn't come off, I went to CS and they gave me a refund right there. Next day I called Corporate and they told me sometimes this happens but I should always go to CS and they should fix it right away. Cashiers are usually friendly and don't question my Qs. I try to make multiple trips if they have good sales on items which they have lately.

I have heard good stories about other chain stores where I have terrible luck with CS and staff and then I have had success with stores others have trouble with. I guess I don't have much to offer other than support to say hang in there!

I've stopped shopping the one near me. Last time I was there, the manager told me that:

    1) if you want to use 2 coupons, you must buy 3 items - so 2 man. qs, need 3 items
    2) you are only allowed to shop in the store once each week

When I contacted corporate, I got a form mail reply that basically said "looking forward to seeing you in our store soon!"

I shop a different chain almost exclusively now.

    In peace,

    Annye
