my safeway would not accept these q's as per their internet q policy that will not take a coupon (internet) that makes an item free of more than 50% off sale or regular price. I had never heard of this so politely asked for a q policy and low and behold their it was-also googled it when I came home to double check and there it was again. Oh well!

Okay just read the Q policy myself...your store sounds like it interpreted the more than 50% off priced items to their advantage....it doesn't mention sale price...and the free Q is a diff paragraph all together....

FREE statement from Safeway...
"It is not an industry practice and we will not accept Printable Coupons for "FREE product" (i.e., no purchase required). Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other varieties that have a purchase requirement are acceptable."


50% Value Statement does not mention SALE price....

"We will not accept Printable Coupons for more than 50% of a product's valueIMHO the VALUE is regular price. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off Printable Coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 will not be accepted. If there are exceptions, we are usually provided an advance notice by the applicable manufacturer upon which we will pass the appropriate savings, if any, onto you. "

I might try this one more time because mine didn't beep at all...it just took them. Now on the other hand when I tried to get those free chiquita bites using a bogo in combo with a $1 off that did beep and didn't work for me....
