Victoria's Secret Santa-From $10-500 gift cards!

I went into Victorias Secret today to get some of the 4/25 tee shirts. I received a "secret santa" gift card. The associate said that for each purchase of $10 or more, you will get a secret santa gift card valued at $10-$500. They give you the gift card in the store, but you can't find out the amount or use it until December 1st. You can pick one up with every $10 purchase or more from Nov. 1st-30th. Then on Dec. 1st you can start using them. This means if you make a $10 purchase you are getting at least a $10 gift card! I am super excited :-)

yes, every store is doing it. they didn't tell me it had to be a $10 purchase, so i don't know if it would work with a cheaper purchase. you can always ask!

Do I understand this correctly: you cannot spend your giftcard until Dec. 1 and you don't even know how much is on it? So let's say I get one card now, and go to Victoria's Secret on the 1st, and spend another $10 (to be safe.) I get to the register and they say I actually had a $500 giftcard. Do I void my chance of using the extra 490$?

Chances are I would only get a 10$ gift card.

So I spend 10$ now, $10 on the first. So I paid 20$ for $30 of merchandise, so I got 33% off my entire purchase...I could do better in their January sale.

No, you would spend $10 now, and $0 on the first if you get a $10 giftcard today and buy $10 worth on December 1st, and your giftcard is worth $10. That would be $20 worth for $10 now.

No...they can check it for you before you purchase things, just not until Dec. 1st!
