Thumbs up Oh my..PetSmart allowed overage!!

Well I finally was able to print off the 5/25 coupon, printed 2. Had a handful of Mighty dog Qs (free can or 1.00 on 12 or 24 pk).
DS 1 wanted a new rat (female) and DS 2 wanted fish.

Had everything planned, until I started checking out, and noticed when they scanned mighty dog Q, it automatically took $1.00 off. Stopped cashier, and asked her about it. She had no clue, and called over manager, who said 'if thats what the computer is doing , ok '
oh my... the mighty dog was .50 a can, and it was taking 1.00 off!!
long story short 2 transaction, as follows..

1st...
18 cans mighty dog @.50 ea
1 frog @2.99
1 danio fish @ 1.19
3 more mighty dog (filler) @.50
1 water plant (filler)@ 6.99
-18 mighty dog Qs @1.00 ea
-5/25 patsmart Q
=.07 OOP !!!!!!!!!!! (had to add the plant & several cans as fillers to get above - price)

2nd...
rat @ 9.99
15 mighty dog @ .50 ea
-13 mighty dog Qs @ 1.00
-5/25
= .54 OOP (again, had to get a few extra cans to get above - price)

Wow, if I had known petsmart allowed overages, I would have shopped there years ago for pet supplies!

For me, I think it depends on the cashier, but often times they do put in the regular price (before the PetPerks savings) or the "up to x.xx price" on the free coupons.... I get pretty much all of my pet food and treats there (unless I get a good sale or doubles at a store that would make it cheaper.)

You can often find pet treats at great prices with the PetPerks savings, and I get canned food usually a little lower there too... I've never had any problems using coupons there -- and I'm in there every two weeks for a new 2 week supply of canned food for my dog and cat!

Thanks for posting this. We need aqaurium filters and a new light. DH wanted to go to WM but I knew we would leave with so much more so this q is saving me a lot more than $5 in the long run.

Thanks for posting this, used it today! Ended up spending less than $2 on 2 bags of cat food, 2 pouches of cat treats, 2 can of wet cat food, and 1 bag of dog food!
