Thread: Problem with Restaurant.com Gift Certificate

Default Problem with Restaurant.com Gift Certificate

I purchased a few of the $25 gift certificates from Restaurant.com for a restaurant about 30 miles from our house and the restaurant refused to honor them. They claimed that they never signed up with Restaurant.com. Has anybody else had this problem and how did you handle it? Thanks for any info.

I haven't been able to get a single restaurant.com certificate to work. Two times, the system sold me certificates for places that were already out of business. Then, after a couple places refused them - same story, never signed up with them - I stopped buying them. Wish I could get my money back but oh well, live and learn. I think the restaurant.com deal may be one that is too good to be true.

I've never had a problem using certificates from restaurant.com. We use them at least once a month. I thought if you ever had a problem, you could get your $$ back?? I always buy on sale so it's never more than a couple dollars, but you might want to give them a call or check their website.

I use them ALL the time as well as my family members, never had a problem. I think in your case the rest. signs up and then goes under. Why would rest.com just randomly pick establishments to showcase on their website if they didn't agree to the terms. Around here we even have chains using the coupons like Tony Romas and The Melting Pot. They are a great deal in my opinion...

I never ever thought that was a legit deal, so I never bought them. If I were you, I would contact your Credit Card company and dispute the charges.

Call the customer service number for restaurants.com. I used several without any problem. Then I bought one and the restaurant went out of business before I could use it. I called restaurants.com and they allowed me to exchange it for another restaurant.

A word of advice might be to call the restaurant before you purchase a certificate to make sure they are still open and that they participate.

My brother, his in-laws, and I use these all the time... no problems whatsoever. Been using them for some time now.

I've used many many many of these with no issues. Simply call or e-mail CS to get credited back for the certs you cannot use. In my experience they have always been very accomodating.
