Applebee's does this every year, along with Golden Corral and some other restaurant chains. I did go to Applebee's last year, and it was very nice. All I had to do was whip out my blue ID card, and all was A-OK.

A DD-214 will work, along with active duty, reserve or retired IDs.

Interesting!!! We live in a "military community" and our Applebee's does not even over Military Discount. They say they "can't afford" to do so??? I will definitely check this out! Our Golden Corral offers it, advertises it, and it, unfortunately, is a 2 hour wait, so this one, if they have it, is unadvertised and will definitely be less crowded!

Thanks! I WILL check it out!

They don't have a "military discount", but they do offer the free meal to veterans on Veterans Day. Most restaurants don't advertise their Veterans Day offerings until just a couple of days before, normally.

i actually have no idea where my DD 214s are...in a box somewhere! i haven't worked since i got out so i have no idea where they might be hiding. i will probably call & ask if that will work, or just go by & make a big fuss if they don't

on a related note, all these places that offer military discounts...do you think they should offer veterans the same discounts as well? they did their time, right? just my 2 cents.
