Yes I bought two of these-$25 so called gift certificate for two resteraunts in my area. Hard to believe but if something seems too good to be true it usually is. Make sure you read the small print before purchasing. I just signed the agreement. (hide your head in the sand and it won't come back to bite you-RIGHT? wrong!!!!!).
My first hint that there was a problem was when I printed the certificate and it said you had to spend $35 dollars to use it. O....K...A...Y? That is iirritating, but $1o to feed my family at a restaurant not too bad still. So we go to this establishment. It was hard to make sure we didn't spend much over the $35 to make it as frugal as possible.(You know how us frugal moms and wives do this-to get the best deal keep it at the target amount as close as possible!) Any way I think we had it at about $38 or so with letting every one get to pick what they'd like within reason. I had brought $20 thinking with tax it surely wouldn't be over $45 Wrong again! Almost $55!!! My husband had to dish out almost $10 on his card. The terms and conditions: 18% tip automatically deducted you must pay. Plus some other "little fee" added on. You actually end up paying the amount you would pay if you went there anyway after you paid your couple dollars for the certificate and all these add ons. No wonder the restaurants are signing up!

What "some other "little fee" added on? I have used these gift certificates many times and have never been charged any additional fees other than the 18% gratituity that is already plainly disclosed. As to the other stipulations those are also disclosed. If the restaurant charged you some hidden fee you need to contact Restaurants.com and report them.
