Just bought some today. Bought 20 of the $25 gift certificates, paid $20, then got an email from restaurant.com for my free 'gift', a $10gift certificate on the house! Nice deal. Love using these, they save so much on eating out!;0

I'd like to buy some for one of the restaraunts, but how do you get them? Do you print them out? Or get them in the mail?
I just don't understand how you can get a $25 gift certificate for $1 ?? I noticed some places say must spend minimum of $35. So, when you go eat you have to spend $35 and then you can -$25 which means you're really only paying $10 at the restaurant? Or, do you have to spend $35 +spend the $25 gift certificate, which means you're still spending $35 to eat there?? I'm so confused with all the different rules the restaurants have! This is what it says for the restaurant I want to buy certificates for (it's a cruise boat dinner thing), but I really don't understand... "Minimum purchase of $35/2 passenger tickets required. Excludes bar beverages. 18% gratuity added. Not combined with any other offer or discounts." Can someone help me decifer this ! thanks!

You can print them out as soon as you've completed your order

I believe this means you must get at least 2 cruise tickets, and those 2 people must spend a total of at least $35 total on their meals before alcohol or tip. When you use the coupon, they'll either add 18% tip on the bill, or expect you to do so yourself (I've seen it both ways). |

Hi, I've never used Restaurant.com.
Can I buy an amount (for example, buy twenty-five $25 certificates for $1 each) to NO specific restaurant for myself - and then give away some amounts for teachers gifts, friends gifts, etc from that same pot? Will the teachers have to register at their site to use them? I wouldn't like that ... Will they get to at all since they were part of my personal pot? This one restaurant by me makes you have to buy $45 of food to use the $25 certificate, or spend $25 to use the $10 cert... But I don't want them to have to spend $45, just 25... Also, they said for the purchasers NOT to call the 800# on the cert as that will void the coupon... That's for the restaurants themselves to call and activate the cert... |

What a great deal for terrific CHEEP Christmas presents!! I got $160 worth of certificates for a mere $6.40. Got 4 $25 certificates to different restaurants for my bro (he and my SIL like to eat out... a lot!), got 1 for his in-laws, one for me for a local pizza place, and one for me for a dinner cruise thing I'm taking my Mum on.

I took advantage of this as well. I ordered 5 GC for $5.00 on Wednesday. We used our first one yesterday. Our total came to $52.xx + $8.xx added gratuity, and we paid $32.xx for our meals.
I look at these as a way to try new and possibly more expensive places than you normally would as opposed to actually saving money. Our bill was so high because we each had a seafood dish (and fried pickles )

I've used restaurant.com a few times with no problems. I recommended it on another forum I've been a member of for many years. One gal posted this morning that she supposedly got an email from them that says that some certificates that she purchased are no longer available, and that she'll have to select something else. Has anybody else ever had this happen to them?? I mean, if the certificate is sold out, you can't even select it. And if you've paid for it, you have up to a year to print it out and use it. That's why I'm suspicious of this.
I'm taking her post with a grain of salt, because she has a reputation for being a lying sack of fecal matter, to put it nicely, and she always has to stir things up for no good cause, except to get some sort of attention, any kind of attention. Any input would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!! |

Irish girl...I have had it happen to me too. I bought a certificate, stored it away. A couple months later Restaurant.com emailed me saying this restaurant no longer was particpating in the program...and gave me an option to select something different. I was able to get another coupon for some where else for the same amount.
Restaurant.com knows when you use the coupon and if you havent. |
