Question Restaurant.com is this site Legitimate?

Hello everyone. I am fairly new to the forum and coupons. I have seen your posts about restaurant.com. I just want to verify it's legitimacy and ensure that it would be a safe place to purchase and make a transaction.

Also, is it worth it? I found one that I could use, but want to make sure there aren't too many restrictions. It's a 10.00 cert that with the 70% disc would cost .90cents and the restrictions are must purchase 20.00 exludes drinks. If these are the only limitations then it would be worth it. Also, when do these usually expire?

I would love to hear your experiences with the site.

Thanks for you help!!

I don't have any experience with the site as we don't eat out often enough to use it, plus there are very few restaurants that I CAN eat out at. I just wanted to say I sincerely doubt that Stephanie would use and promote a site on her website that was not legit or did not have value. And I have seen restaurant.com promoted on other money-saving sites as well.

Is is a completely safe site. Each restaurant has its own restrictions and will be listed beneath the "Add to Cart" option. In addition all certs are limited to one per party, per visit, and per month.

You have one year to use it from the time that you print out the cert.

I have used a number of these at different restaurants with no problems whatsoever.

Thank you both for your help!

That is a valid point you make regarding the legitimacy of the site based on the source of where I found it....I thought about that too!! But I wanted to be certain and hear other's experiences regarding the site, b/c that helps me make a better decision! Especially when something seems to good to be true! The gift cert I want to get is a $10.00 and it will cost me only .90cents!!! That is awesome!!

Thanks again!!

Thumbs up Use them ALL the time!

My family is on the opposite side of the spectrum. We eat out quite a bit (2 times per week) and I use one almost every time. We have explored some new restaurants this way and found some new favorites that we now frequent once each month!

and I've purchased several of the gift certificates and they've worked fine..a couple of the restaurants I signed up for had issues..which wasn't the company's fault...one restaurant was listed as a jimmy buffet type tropical themed restaurant and it ended up being more like a girlie bar..and another was out of business right after I bought the coupon..I wrote to restaurant.com email address..and literally within hours I had an apology and a reimbursement credit...they are national so they wouldn't know if the individual restaurant didn't give them an update...

we've used the certificates many times..and no problem..

Thumbs up Used it often!!!

I've used the website often. I live in CA and within the state you are not limited to the one year expiration date. Each individual restaurant coupon has restrictions on the amount of food you need to purchase in order to use the coupon; however with the percentage off deals, it can be a significant savings even with the restrictions. If you use a restaurant coupon for one restaurant you aren't able to use another coupon for that specific restaurant until the following month; but you can use other restaurant coupons on the site. Be aware that this coupon is often only for food, not to be combined with happy hour or any other deals. I agree with the other responders that it is a great way to experience other restaurants that you would otherwise frequent. ENJOY

I just bought for the first time yesterday because it was only $2.00 for a $25 certificate (but must spend $35). I was wondering how this works, but sounds like others have had a good experience. I did buy 2 and I guess we will go this month and next month. I hope the restaurant is good since I have not tried it before. Thanks for the guidance.

We've been using this site for several years with great success-never had an issue and every single restaurant has been fine accepting the cpns. We've been able to try different restaurants we wouldn't have normally gone to.
Our very favorite has been for Red Top Mtn. north of us here in Acworth, GA. It's situated at a state park lodge-you can eat your buffet lunch and look out on the park-lovely!

Go ahead-snag some of the deals.

The trick is....select your food items so the total will just be over the minimum purchase required, for max savings. We play this game often

Not only is the site legal, it is absolutely wonderful. My husband and I just enjoyed a great dinner for $13 which included the price of the certificate, tips and taxes last night. You can eat at the best places in town on the cheap. Great for those date nights with the spouse. Use the system, and enjoy. Also there is 60% of until midnight tonight, so you might want to get in on that. I certainly did. The discount code is MORE. Good Luck, and Have Fun!
