My McDonald's had a sign today posted at the Drive Thru,

Free Small Latte, Fridays from 7am to 7pm

I got a plain, whole milk latte at 12 noon today. It was good.

Choices: Whole or Fat free milk; Carmel, Vanilla, Hazelnut, or Plain

Being from a big family and having a big family here are some tips/tricks we have always done:

1) Order water or tonic water or seltzer for all and if you have two or three who have to have soda or juice or milk order one and let all have a sip

2) Look at the appetizer menu most are so big that they can be a meal for an older child who is too big for the children's menu but yet too small for adult meal

3) if you must have desert order one and share it

4) Always fill out comment cards and join the clubs at the restuarant and look for them on line of your favorites -- that is how you get coupons

5) We always order from the dollar menus -- it is actually cheaper than the meals especially at McDonalds when you order the tea and share the cup. Order a kids meal for lunch out it fills you enough til dinner or until you get home for desert.

6) Look for all you can eat nights especially if you have big teenagers (boys like mine) they help alot.

7) THIS IS THE BIGGEST ONE DISCUSS AND PLAN AHEAD BEFORE GOING. Keep even the kids in on saving money. Tell them ahead hey we are going out but this is the spending limit and that includes your drink. It does work!!

Default Eat out for less: 50-60% off restaurant gift certificates in your area

Restaurant.com offers $25 gift certificates for $10. If you register with "The Coupon Mom" - Grocery Coupons, Coupons, Free Samples, Online Coupons, Restaurant Coupons you get special codes by e-mail that allow you to purchase them for 60% off or more - same certificate costs only $4! Search by zip code and radius from your address. You can print them from your computer or have them mailed to you. I've bought certificates as birthday & anniversary gifts for relatives this way.

Restaurant.com - Deals on neighborhood restaurants. $25 Restaurant Certificates for only $10!

Also not really a tip but just something good...Texas Roadhouse has an appetizer on their menu that's like 1/4 slab of ribs and fries for around $6. It's more than enough food, even for an adult, and rather inexpensive. Drink water, and 2 adults can eat for $12 plus tax. I love Texas Roadhouse...that was one drawback to moving away from one! Their ribs are the most tender I've ever had..you can eat them with a fork, well actually you have to because they fall off the bone so easily you would be wearing them!
