Default not healthy but good

when i was young and single, i made this because it is cheap and easy to make

Now, i make this a few times through out the year, depending on which kid is playing which sport LOL. my son likes me to make it the night before a football game--and he takes left-overs for lunch

i just boil some new potaos < red potatos> and add the keilbasa sliced right to the pot. sometimes add onions, if i have any around. Once potatos can be speared with a fork, i remove it all to a large seving bowl. throw some salt and pepper and the family is good to go. I also do this when i dont have any desire to make a full blown meal!
kids and DH love it and it fills them up

This is my DH's favorite.

Dutch Kielbasa

1# Kielbasa or any sausage meat, cubed
1 C egg noodles
1 C broccoli pieces
1 C cabbage, shredded or pieces
1 C shredded cheese
1/2 stick butter
1/4 Miracle Whip

The sausage must be pre-cooked (I've used raw sausage before - just brown it up first). Using a large sauce pot, fill 2/3 with water and boil. Add noodles, broc., cabbage and meat. Boil for 10-12 minutes until veggies and noodles are done, drain. Add back to pot and then add cheese butter and Miracle Whip, mix together and dinner is done!

1 lb sauerkraut fresh or can

1lb polish sausage

3 tart cooking apples sliced (peel if desired)

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon caraway seed (optional)

3/4 cup apple juice or cider

1. rinse sauerdraut & squeeze dry. Place half in slow cooker.

On the grill...this one is good but spicy. Serves 4

"Big Ol' Mess"

1 lb sausage (keilbasa) cut into chunks
3 jalapeno sliced
1 green pepper cut into chunks
1 sweet onion cut into chunks
1 foil cooking bag (or you can just wrap it all in foil --that's what I do)
1/4 cup Tabasco sauce
1 10oz jar sweet & sour sauce

1.Place sausage, pepper & onion in foil.

2.Mix tabasco with sweet & sour sause in bowl and pour over the stuff in the foil.

3. Seal everything up tight.

4. place this foil "bag" on the grill.

5. cook for about 45 min. & turn it or at least stir it every 15 min.

6. Serve it right out of the "bag".

Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!

Default Cabbage Casserole

1 head of cabbade
1/2 onion or 1/4
3-4 potatoes
1/2 cup water
salt pepper
1-2 Tbs butter
1 Kielbasa link

Cut cabbage into small pieces and the onion. Slice potates and Kielbasa link. In a square pan layer the potatoes on the bottom and then the cabbage and onion and Kielbasa on top. In a glass measuring cup add the butter water and salt and pepper. Heat in microwave till butter melts. Pour it over the dish. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

It can be made the day before. So when you get home you can pop it in the oven. This is a very old and YUMMY recepie. Please try it...I made it the other day with ham I had leftover from our honey baked ham we bought for christmas. It was good !!

I just made this up one day with all the veggies I had in the fridge, and my hubby and I love it! Use the veggies you like, and adjust seasonings to taste:

--Saute garlic (I use several cloves) with onion.
--Add mushroom, and cook for a few minutes
--Add any veggies you like - I frequently use broccoli, thinly sliced carrots, canned chopped tomatoes and zuchinni. Also spinach works well, too.
--Saute until veggies are just barely fork tender
- Add chunked kielbasa and warm through
- Toss with cooked pasta - I usualy use the Rotini or Rotelle
--Season with oregano, basil, salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan before serving.

I think I have all the ingredients. I'm going to make this tonight!

If you are a pinto bean eater the sausage is wonderful cut up in them. I cook them together in a crockpot overnight and the beans absord the smoked flavor.

Default Here is a simple one

Don't know if you are still looking but here is another one:

Cut up potatoes
Baby carrots
Onion sliced
1lb sausage
Greek seasoning
EVOO

Cut up potatoes, the smaller the faster they cook. Throw in baby carrots and onion sliced in rings. Drizzle with evoo and greek seasoning, or whatever you like. We do Tony Cachere's if we want spicy. Then slice sausage in three pieces per link and then half those. (so one 1 pkg you end up with 12 pieces) Put sausage on top, cover with foil and cook 400 for 1 hr.
You can vary time and temp depending on how big veggies are. Try different veggies too. We have done red bell peppers in there too. Just don't cut up to small strips or they get mushy. Whole mushrooms are good too.
Enjoy!
