    Pickled eggs?
Can't think of anything for the oil/grease.

    Here are a couple links.

My grandmother used to flavor her potato salad with pickle juice. Not sure about the grease though!

My Granny saved grease, esp bacon grease, in a metal can over the stove. She used is to season beans and in biscuits.

So did mine. It was mostly sausage & bacon grease and she always used it in beans and other things.

My grandmother used to make her own "cocktail" onions by putting the small white pearl sized onions in leftover pickle juice. My husbands mother used to slice red onions into rings and put them into the pickle juice. Its quite tasty! Another leftover juice that is great to add stuff to is pepperocini juice. Carrot slices and cauliflower are fantastic in it!

As I read some of the replies, I'm wondering if I could make suet cakes for the birds. I just don't know if the fat would be thick enough to hold together. Maybe I could mix bird seed in it and pour it into a plastic container to place on the ground. Then again, I don't want to attract mice and other critters. ???

pepperocini is a mild pepper that has been pickled. They are very popular on the west coast anyways. Heck, they even come with your pizza (Dominoes) and are a topping selection at Subway LOL. Here is a link to the wikipedia so you can SEE them. Peperoncini - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
