    Default Crock Pot Cranberry Roast

Got this from the infamous crockpoting site

    3-4 pounds beef roast
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes, or 1 medium yellow onion, diced
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 (16 ounce) can of whole berry Cranberry sauce

Put in the roast (frozen is fine), and add the onion and soy sauce. Pour in the entire can of cranberry sauce over the top, smushing it to cover the meat. Do not add water. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours, or on high for 5-6. Low is best, as the meat will be falling apart and more juicy. But High is fine, you may just need to cut it up about an hour before serving to let the juice soak up into the meat.

I served it over mashed potatoes and with green peas. It was so good. Everyone, even my 2 year old loved it. He normally gags with mashed potatoes. IDK

This is the best tasting roast I have ever had. There is a bit of sweetness with the cranberry.... the broth is great! And it's sooooooooooo easy!

That sounds SO GOOD! I made homemade cranberry sauce (well, relish, technically) this year at Thanksgiving and it was so good, I ended up making it twice more soon after -- for Christmas and New Year meals. I'll bet that would be great on this, too. I got the recipe from another website. Can i post the link here? Or just copy the recipe here and credit the site?

I've been checking the deal pages fro years and only figured out there was a forum yesterday, so I really don't want to get booted for a breach of protocol. LOL

Did you use the jellied cranberry sauce (all in one piece in the can) or the whole berry? It sounds great and I would like to try it over a pork roast I just bought.

The whole berry oceanspray canned cranberry is what I had in my pantry (left over from the holidays).. It was nice to have a few berries in the broth, but I imagine the jellied would be just as nice.

Oh DUH! I left that out of the recipe.... I'm going to go fix that. LOL

I am making this one tonight for dinner. I thought I had a pork roast, but I didn't so I am using pork country style boneless ribs instead. My mouth is watering already.

I made this also today using a boneless pork loin roast. Oh my gosh - it turned out SO good. I cooked it for only 6 hours on low and it was perfect. My husband took one bite and said "oh yes". He really liked it! He said this one is a Keeper. I was in a hurry to get out the door today and forgot the onion and the soy sauce. All I did was smush the canned cranberry sauce all over the roast and when it cooked down, it looked like whole cranberries were in it. When I served it, I cut it in slices and pretty well covered the slice with the cranberry sauce that had cooked down. Perfect!

Thanks for posting this recipe. Let's try and post crock pot recipes that we find are really good.
