Toss the spiral pasta with any veggies you wish(i use celery, onion, and shredded carrots), cubed meat and cheese(I use salami or pepperoni, ham, and sharp cheese), and add Italian salad dressing and Salad Supreme to taste.

    Default Try Basil

Fresh basil leaves shredded add lots of flavor to a hot or cold pasta summer salad. If you have some cherry tomatoes you'll be even more hungry!

Basil, cherry tomatoes, little green pepper plant and parsley in a container on the porch, a window sill or by the kitchen door will continually add to your summer salads!

I add a can of beans for the protein, usually garbanzo beans.

well....it's not a pasta salad but it's just as yummy!

I take 5 lbs of red potatoes, 2 lbs of smoked sausage, 1 green pepper, 1 small onion, 1 bottle of any type of vinegrette based salad dressing...I like Kraft Zesty Italian on this actually.

Slice the smoked sausage thin...about 1/8-1/4 inch....put in a colander. Slice green pepper into thin strips then cut those in half...dice up the onion and put in a large bowl. Cook the potatoes until they are fork tender. I then pour the hot boiling water off the potatoes over the smoked sausage. Shake the sausage off toss it in the bowl....cut up the potatoes while they are hot...toss them int he bowl and then pour the entire bottle of salad dressing on it...mix it up and stick it in the fridge overnight.....

because the potatoes are hot, they mellow some of the sharpness of the raw onion and absorb the italian dressing.

Sometimes I add red and yellow peppers too...but it's all a matter of taste.

To me it's a great alternative to traditional potato salad.

    Not a pasta salad -- it's a Amish recipe.
Head of broccoli, diced red onion, raisins (handfull),very crispy bacon in pieces, to that you add a dressing of mayo, vinegar, sugar(mix seperately) toss together and chill
variation cauliflower and shredded cheddar can be added

Sounds alittle strange but is delicious

    2 zucchinis
    2 summer squash
16 oz of pasta (I have used penne and rotini before)
several cherry tomatoes (can use the bigger roma tomatoes)
    2-4 cloves of garlic
    vegetable oil
    Parmesan cheese

Ok, I cut the vegetables into quarters and sautee the zucchini and squash lightly in oil and garlic. Cook the pasta and mix the zucchini, squash and pasta together. Cut up the tomatoes and top with fresh tomato and the Parmesan cheese. It is good hot or cold and keeps for a while so I make this much and it is good for several meals for 2 adults.
