I use a 2 cup pyrex measuring cup.

For a gallon I use 10 individual tea bags or 4 family sized tea bags.

I often use a mix of regular tea bags and green tea bags. I don't like straight green tea but like to add some 2 or 3 small tea bags for the antioxidents (though regular tea has antioxidents too, just not as much).

I put 2 cups water in the measuring cup and add the tea bags. Microwave for 3 minutes then let sit for 10 more minutes.

Pour into a gallon pitcher and fill the rest of the way up with cold water.

We don't sweeten our tea but if you do then add 1 1/2 cups of sugar to a gallon (or more if you like it sweeter than that).

If you want diet flavored Iced tea then add some sugar free drink mix (like Crystal Light flavored mixes or Wylers lite lemonade) to the pitcher or just to each glass before drinking.

It's not nearly as cheap as regular tea but it is worth it to not have to boil water and wait for the tea to cool off in the frig. It also tastes just like the boiled kind of tea. I'm from the south, so we do love our sweet tea here.
ditto, I figure the little extra I spend makes up for the energy I save by not turning on the stovetop (and creating more heat for the a/c to kick down.
