Citric Acid is not Citrus Acid...becareful..it does come from citrus fruits, but you can use too much, and if you are on some medications citrus especially Grapefruit can alter effectiveness

Default no soda please ice tea

never thought about the limeade. Great idea. I make at least a 1/2 gallon a day since it is still steamy in florida and it is better than soda I do exactly what the other bloggers do, let it boil watch it then add sugar sub. for me regular for DH.

Wink So glad you asked!

You might have felt silly to ask how to make brewed iced tea but I am so glad that you did!

I just made my first batch of iced tea. I did it using the instructions from the many other members who responded to you. I can't wait to try it (I will wait one day as suggested).

Thanks again for asking! You are not alone!

if and when you use the limeade be sure to stir the iced tea as it has a tendency to settle at the bottom

I personally LOVE the Lipton Cold Brew. It is SO worth the extra money to me. All you do is add two family sized tea bags to 2 qt. pitcher of cold water and a few minutes later you have tea. Add sugar to taste. I have gotten good deals on this by waiting for triples at HT. Whenever I find a good deal on this I stock up. It's not nearly as cheap as regular tea but it is worth it to not have to boil water and wait for the tea to cool off in the frig. It also tastes just like the boiled kind of tea. I'm from the south, so we do love our sweet tea here.

Guess I am the only one that brews my Tea in the Coffee pot. I use 5 or 6 tea bags and fill the coffee pot with water let it do it's thing and leave on warm for about 20 min. I make a gallon at a time, so pour brewed tea into my gallon jug add 1 1/2 cup sugar, stir, then add more water to the top of the jug.

I have had the cold brew at a friends house and it was good just did it myself.

my family got me an electrical kettle one Christmas......I use it everyday! I don't have to turn my stove on and it uses less electricity. Also if I'm boiling water for pasta or whatever often I'll boil it in there...takes 2 - 3 mins.

I wish it would drop down 40 degrees. I hate hot weather!!! Back in Arizona the leaves are falling and they are wearing sweaters. My friend told me it was 44 the other morning there. Next year we are going to Illinois, I cannot wait for actual seasons instead of 9 months hot and 3 months decent.

All these tea recipes, I wish I liked it. I only like the fake stuff... LOL! Meaning Lipton or Nestle Instant Ice Tea mix ~ not brewed. I can not stand the taste of brewed tea...

I think ice tea is very good in summer for us. Generally people drink cold coffee and cold coco. But ice tea is also very nice so we can enjoy it.
