My store sells turkey parts alot of the time so you could always do the breast and buy a package of legs or whatever. I cook mine the same way but I usually stuff it. Make sure you let the turkey sit for a good 45 minutes covered with foil after you take it out of the oven before you attempt to carve it. Otherwise it's just too hot and will not cut well at all. Butterball has a 1-800 number for help but I don't think that starts up until closer to Thanksgiving. The stores already have fresh cranberries out so hopefully someone will make homemade cranberry sauce for you

Hi ALAKE!! Watch the Food Network .. Starting in Mid November they will have Bunches of shows on how to cook a Turkey.. There's also the Butterball Hotline!! Just think of it as a big Chicken!!! Good Luck.. You really can't ruin it!! Also the Turkey cooks faster if you don't stuff it.... But you could do both stuff it and also cook a pan of stuffing

I hate cooking or prepping turkey... but everyone has already covered the common mistakes I learned the hard way.
My advice on stuffing is to put some in the cavity and make some on the side... everyone has a different preference. I like it from the cavity b/c it gets flavored differently and then the toasty pieces on the end are good to me. But it's all just a matter of preference. |
