COFFEE....

Put two to three cups of brewed coffee, depending on how big your crock pot is, in with your roast. About half way up on the roast as it sits in the crock pot. Add a few drops of hot sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper and I throw in some hot pepper flakes on occasion. Sometimes I just throw in carrots and onions and a few potatoes and it turns in to a delicious beef soup. It's delicious and makes for a killer gravy with a bit of cornstarch. The coffee also tenderizes the roast.

Never had anyone say that they didn't love my pot roasts!
so if you feed this to the kids do they stay up all night?

I thought I was the only one. I have an Amish recipe for Pot Roast that uses 1 cup of COFFEE, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, and a large sliced onion. Makes the best pot roast ever!
